Abstract

The device has a folding mechanism provided with a guide rail (4), a rotation element (6) i.e. rotation brake, and a folding element (7). A carrier element (2) is moved from a stowed position into an operating position using the folding mechanism. The rotation element is moved to the folding element using the guide rail during moving the carrier element from the stowed position to the operating position. The carrier element is flapped against reset force of the rotation element by co-operation of the rotation element and the folding element in the operating position. An independent claim is also included for a method for moving a carrier element from a stowed position into an operating position.
