Abstract

1. Longitudinal cylinder unit comprising a pneumatic or hydraulic piston-cylinder unit in which a driving piston (2, 3) is disposed so as to be displaceable back and forward in a cylinder (4) and with said cylinder defines first and second pressure flow medium chambers (5, 6), into which and from which a pneumatic or hydraulic pressure flow medium for displacing the driving piston (2, 3) can be supplied and discharged, a load piston (13) which absorbs transverse forces acting from outside across the direction of displacement (A) of the driving piston (2, 3) being displaceably disposed in a longitudinal guide (14) parallel to the driving piston (2, 3), characterized in that the load piston (13) is connected to the driving piston (2, 3) by means of a coupling (17) which disengages the driving piston (2, 3) from the transverse forces but transmits pressure or tensile longitudinal forces acting in the direction of displacement (A) of the driving piston (2, 3) to the load piston (13).
