Abstract

The device has a hub body (4) which is screwed into the end face of the knife shaft (1) and on which there is seated an annular piston (8) which acts axially on the knives (20). A piston (6) is screwed into the hub body (4). A drive part (31) having an external hexagon (32) designed to take a spanner is connected via a torque-limiting system (41) to the piston (6). During assembly, the hub body (4) is screwed in until the annular piston (8) rests on the knives (20). When the drive part (31) rotates, the piston (6) displaces oil into the cylinder chamber (10) of the annular piston (8) so that the knives (20) are securely clamped. If a predetermined torque is exceeded, the drive part (31) continues to rotate with respect to the piston (6) by means of a torque-limiting system (41). The optimum contact-pressure force of the annular piston (8) can consequently be precisely adhered to during assembly. <IMAGE>
