Abstract

The rotary lock cylinder has a cylinder core (1) which consists of a cylindrical body (11) with an open key guide and of at least one coaxial case (4) surrounding this. The case (4) closes the laterally open key guide, so that a virtually closed key channel (3) is formed. The case (4) is preferably movable and centres itself automatically. The movable case (4) also prevents opening attempts and thus increases the security value of the rotary lock cylinder. By changing the thickness of the wall of the case (4), it is possible to vary the radial distance between the key channel (3) and the outer surface of the cylinder core (1), with the result that the number of locking possibilities differing from one another can be increased in a constructionally simple way. <IMAGE>
