Abstract

The shower partition (1) is designed in the form of a folding door having two swivel parts (3 and 4) made of glass. Arranged above the swivel parts (3 and 4) is a rail (8) and the second swivel part (4) is hooked onto said rail by means of at least one holding element (9) in order to relocate some of the weight forces from the swivel hinges and bearings (2 and 7) onto the rail (8). The holding element (9) is displaceable relative to the rail (8) and rotatable with its anchoring element (10) acting on the swivel part (4). In this case, in the open position of the folding door, the second swivel part (4) can preferably project in relation to the first swivel part (3) such that, when the folding door is open, there is a clearance from the second swivel part (4) in the region of the bearing (2) of the first swivel part (3), in which clearance a handle (14) can be accommodated without impairing the openability. <IMAGE>
