Abstract

1. A clamping lever closure with a strap (6) for a barrel or another packing container, consisting of a lever bearing part (8) which is secured to one end of the strap and comprises a base plate and two side pieces (10) bent at right-angles thereto, a clamping lever (17) which is pivotable on a joint pin (16) of the lever bearing part and which has two side pieces (19) and a back connecting them, a counter-bearing part (12) for the other strap end, and a connection part which is mounted on a joint pin (21) of the clamping lever (17) and a joint pin (23) mounted between side pieces (15) of the counter-bearing part (12), characterized by the following features : a) the connection part is a flat link plate (22) ; b) the back (18) of the clamping lever (17) has a cutaway portion (20) extending from the joint pin (16) of the lever bearing part (8) over the joint pin (21) for the link plate (22) ; c) the link plate (22) lies between the side pieces (19) of the clamping lever (17) and the side pieces (15) of the counter-bearing part (12) and forms an inner reinforcement of the gap (25) between the front edges of the side pieces (10) of the lever bearing part and the side pieces (15) of the counter-bearing part (12) ; d) the link plate (22) has a notch (24) which engages over the joint pin (16) of the lever bearing part (8) in the closed position.
