Abstract

Apparatus (10) for the briquetting of old paper or the like, with a mould (14, 14a) which consists of a first part (30) and of a second part (60) and at least one part of which is equipped with moulding spaces for a plurality of briquets. The two parts can be moved away from one another for the purpose of filling a feed device (16) arranged above the mould. The first part is a fixedly and horizontally arranged plane mould part (30), the second part is an essentially plane mould top part (60) pivotable relative to the mould bottom part (30) about a horizontal axis, the moulding spaces are formed by mutually parallel webs (62) which are perpendicular to the mould bottom part (30) and between which a comb-like press ram (52) can be displaced, an ejector device (40) acting transversely relative to the direction of displacement of the press ram (52) is provided for the shaped briquets (50), and a metered feed of old paper to the mould is obtained by means of a follow-up control. <IMAGE>
