Abstract

The seat comprises a shell (1) in a V arch in the antero-posterior direction and furnished with a safety harness to restrain the child, this shell being supported by an underframe (10). According to the invention, the shell, when installed on the rear seat (17) of the vehicle, turned away from the direction of travel and held in position by this vehicle's seat belt (18), is joined to a restraining hoop (22) whose side arms (23) are supported by the sides of the shell close to the centre of gravity of said shell when loaded, and slope upwards to the central cross arm (26), which last rests against the back of the rear seat (17) substantially on a level with the child's head. <IMAGE>
