Abstract

A skiboot (1) comprises a shell and a composite shaft (4). A lower part (2) of the shell has a longitudinal slit (28) on the side opposite to the sole which extends from the tip of the shoe to the heel region. The slit is covered by a shell cover (3) arranged on the lower part (2) of the shell with which it forms a single piece and which extends from the tip (22) of the boot to the shaft (4) above the longitudinal slit (28). The shaft (4) consists of at least one front flap (5) and a rear flap (6). The flaps are secured to the shell by swivelling axes. Closure devices and adjustment devices are arranged on the individual parts or flaps of the skiboot. The shell cover (3) extends to an end of the front flap (5) opposite to the sole (25) and is encompassed in the region of the instep by a support surface (24) connected to the shaft (4). An instep cover (20) of the shell cover (3) pivots relative to a covering part (19) for the interior part of the foot which forms part of the shell cover, about an axis (21) perpendicular to a longitudinal direction (26) of the sole and approximately parallel to the sole (25).
