Abstract

1. Multiple glazing unit for insulation comprising at least two parallel glass sheets (4a, 4b) and, positioned between the border zones of their surfaces that face each other, spacer frames (1), each of which is formed from profile tubes (5) and from angle pieces (6) which locate in the cavities of the profile tubes with pegs (12a, 12b) and which contain corner members with two lateral contact surfaces that are parallel with each other and with the glass sheets and lie essentially in the same planes as the lateral contact surfaces of the profile tubes, these surfaces being parallel with the glass sheets, and elastomer strips (2a, 2b) positioned bet elastomer strips (2a, 2b) positioned between the contact surfaces of the spacer frames and the border zones and forming a vapour diffusion barrier, in which at least two closable gas feed or gas outlet holes (15) lead through the angle pieces of each spacer frame from the external side to the inter-sheet space (9) bounded by the spacer frame and the glass sheets, and in which the cavity of at least one profile tube of each spacer frame contains in at least a part of its longitudinal extent a dessicant (7) which is in contact with this inter-sheet space via openings, characterised in that each spacer frame (1) has at least one angle piece (6, 6'), which has between the corner member (11, 11') and at least one (12b, 12'b) of its two pegs (12a, 12'a, 12b, 12'b) a side piece (13, 13'), in which at least its lateral contact surfaces (13a) lie essentially in the same planes as the lateral contact surfaces (11a, 5a) of both the corner member (11, 11') and the profile tubes (5), and that through these side pieces (13, 13') extend the gas feed or gas outlet holes (15), the axes (15a) of which are essentially parallel with the lateral contact surfaces and perpendicular to the side piece (13, 13').
