Abstract

A latch assembly for sliding wings is composed of: - a base (2) formed by a bracket, of which one wing (6) is surface-mounted on the inner face of the wing and the other wing (7) projects relative to the latter; - a control handle (3) mounted pivotably on the said base (2) and having a locking member (4) intended for interacting with a latch (5) or equivalent arranged on the frame. To ensure some degree of safety in the manipulation of this latch assembly, whilst at the same time reducing the degree of complexity of its component elements, it possesses, furthermore, single elastic means (19) capable of pushing the control handle (3) either into the released position or into the locked position, depending on the angular offset imparted to the said control handle (3). <IMAGE>
