Abstract

In a closure for a bottle-type container, in particular for rinsing liquid or the like, with a formed-on closure cap comprising a protecting cap which can be screwed onto a thread on the container neck over the closure cap, the protecting cap being connected releasably to an axially fixed original sealing ring by means of corresponding projections and undercuts, and, after release of the protecting cap from the original sealing ring, the latter being pressable against the closure cap by means of further screwing, so that the closure cap is torn off from the container along a predetermined breaking place, it is envisaged, in order to achieve a hermetic sterile seal on the one hand and easy handling on opening on the other hand, that the original sealing ring (16) has on its upper edge (18) a larger free diameter (D2) than the protecting cap (15) on its underside, tear-off connecting tabs being arranged between original sealing ring (16) and protecting cap (15), and that, below the lower edge (17) of the protecting cap (15), an annular shoulder (5) with a conical abutting surface (6) is arranged. <IMAGE>
