Abstract
1. A flux, containing zinc chloride and ammonium chloride, for the "dry" fluxing process, characterized in that it additionally contains, individually or in admixture, hydroxides and carbonates of sodium or potassium, with the proviso that the molar ratio of zinc to sodium or potassium is from 1:0.02 to 1:2, it contains from 0.05 to 4 moles of ammonium chloride per mole of zinc, and the total content of ammonium chloride and sodium or potassium hydroxides does not exceed 60% by weight.
