Abstract

When operating an SZ stranding machine it is necessary to ensure that, during the stranding process, turning back of the individual wires (4) to be stranded occurs. This object is partially achieved by using a tubular store (3), although this solution is found to be inadequate, particularly when a rigid perforated guide disc is used. In order to achieve adequate turning back of the individual wires (4), the tubular store (3) together with the wires (4) looped around it is surrounded by at least one tubular element (7, 8, 9) on whose inner side the wires (4) to be stranded can roll off. As a result of the rolling off, adequate turning back of the individual wires is achieved. The invention can be used in the most varied types of SZ stranding machines. <IMAGE>
