Abstract

The combination sealing between two machine parts (1, 2) fits into as open groove (3) in one of the parts. The seal has an elastomeric expansion ring (4, 5) at the bottom of the groove and a rectangular intermediate ring (6) of viscous elastic material with a sealing face (6b) contacting the mating machine part at each corner (16, 17). The intermediate ring has an outer groove (7) with an elastomeric outer sealing ring (8).
