Abstract

1. A device for attaching a covering material (29) to a support member (2), particularly a furniture part, and/or for covering the edges of the support member (2) in particular, consisting of two longitudinally flexible, resilient plastics profiled strips (1, 15) which are each extruded in one piece and can be joined to one another, one of which forms a base profiled strip (1) which can be secured to the support member (2) by means of a base web (4) at its underside to be turned towards the support member (2), and of which the other forms a superimposed profiled strip (15) which can be pressed onto the base profiled strip (1) and is movable with its longitudinal marginal regions in locking engagement with locking surfaces of an upper superimposed region of the base profiled strip (1), originating from the top of the base web (4), characterized in that the base web (4) of the base profiled strip (1) is arched transversely in a direction facing away from the support member (2), the upper superimposed region of the base profiled strip comprises two lateral webs (6, 7) which are disposed at each side of the longitudinal central plane (5) of the base web and are provided with thickened portions (8, 9) at the head side affording the locking surfaces for the superimposed profiled strip (15) and which project from the arched base web, substantially parallel to one another, and leave a gap (11) between their thickened portions at the head side, which gap closes when the base web is secured to the support member, and in that the superimposed profiled strip comprises lateral detent webs (16, 17) with inwardly directed detent hooks (18, 19) at its underside adjacent to the base profiled strip and is provided with a centre web (20) with a double-sided detent hook (21, 22).
