Abstract

L'invention concerne une composition liquide thixotrope aqueuse comprenant un agent de thixotropie argileux. La stabilité physique contre la séparation de phases et la stabilité contre les variations de propriétés rhéologiques dans le temps d'une telle composition sont améliorées en incorporant dans la composition une petite proportion, comme de 1,0 à 2,0 pour cent en poids, de polyphosphates de potassium, tels que le tripolyphosphate, le pyrophosphate et l'hexamétaphosphate de potassium, et une petite proportion, comme de 0,2 à 0,4 cent en poids, d'un sel de métal polyvalent, tel que le calcium, le magnésium, l'aluminium ou le zinc, d'un acide gras à longue chaîne tel que l'acide stéarique, à titre d'agents stabilisants. De cette façon également, les propriétés thixotropes peuvent être maintenues ou améliorées avec de plus petites teneurs, comme de 0,2 à 0,5 %, d'épaississant thixotrope argileux qu'en l'absence du polyphosphate de potassium stabilisant.
