"Pompe rotative"
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
La figure 1 est une coupe verticale par l'axe partiellement en élévation et;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
(figure 1) ou v et w (figure 3) .

"Rotary pump"
The present invention relates to improvements - -mente to rotary pumps of the eccentric type, in which the sliding and oscillating vanes are housed in slots distributed on the circumference of the rotor, mounted excen. trially and are connected by their inner end to a central shaft placed along the axis of the cylindrical casing of the pump, so as to be able to rotate about this axis.
This central shaft is usually mounted at one end in the cover of the machine, and it has been found in practice to be advantageous to support the other end of the shaft so as to enable it to withstand the stresses of work. by fixing it in a ring arranged
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
in the corresponding end of the rotor, like a crankshaft.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a means for mounting the central fixed shaft in a more solid manner and especially in models intended to allow a large flow while having sufficient strength and stability for its purposes. various organs.
According to the present invention, the inner end of the shaft is provided with an eccentric on which is mounted one of the rings of a ball bearing in which the central shaft penetrates, in order to allow the rotor to rotate relative to that tree. Thus, it is possible to obtain a bearing of a rancid diameter and consequently a more stable support for the inner end of the shaft, while reducing to a minimum the losses due to friction, thanks to the reduction of the friction of this large diameter bearing.
This construction is advantageously adopted for blowing machines of large capacity and of relatively great length.
Another characteristic point of the invention consists in the mounting on the central fixed shaft of a rotating sleeve. This assembly is also done by means of a ball bearing. The sleeve is intended to receive the rings fixed to the pallets to connect them to the central shaft.
Another peculiarity lies in the fact that the inner part of the rotor or of the piston body rotates in a ball bearing arranged in an eccentric block mounted on the central shaft. In this way, all the parts can be supported with great stability and can act remarkably efficiently and without friction, even if the pump has to have a speed of several
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
thousands of revolutions per minute, as can be the case when the pump is used for supercharging aircraft engines.
The accompanying drawings show two examples of construction which can be adopted to carry out the invention.
Figure 1 is a vertical section taken through the axis partially in elevation and;
Figure 2 is a cross section, taken through the line II-II of Figure I, of a rotary pump comprising a housing a with its covers b c. d is the central shaft and e the rotor mounted eccentrically inside the housing a on ball or roller bearings f g placed: one inside a cavity made in the cover b. and the other around a journal h, fixed eccentrically on the other convercle c and carrying at its inner end a reinforcement h '. in which is fixed, for example by screwing, one end of the central shaft d.
The other end or the inner end of the shaft carries an eccentric hollow disc i which bears on a short part k of the end of the rotor shaft 1. Inside this disc, is fixed, by means of a screwed chapwau m, the outer cover of the ball bearing * or rauleaux n. whose inner ring is fixed on part k. In this way, a bearing of relatively large diameter has been provided for the disc, which gives a very stable and frictionless support to the inner part of the shaft.
The four vane pump 0, as shown by the phantom lines in the figure
These pallets can be provided with rigid reenbrures whose nature and destination have been described in the patent filed by the same inventor dated December 10, 1935 ...... for "Rotary pumps", under
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the N 262.358.
These pallets slide in grooves of the support bars j which can oscillate in a known manner in notches arranged on the circumference of the rotor.
The vanes are connected at their inner end with rings p placed side by side along the sleeve q, This sleeve can rotate in ball or roller bearings r around the shaft d,
This arrangement of the pallets around a sleeve mounted on balls or on rollers reduces, during the rotation of the pallets, the even friction losses, which can be reduced even more if the rings p of one of the rings are fixed. paddles to the sleeve q so as to positively drive the latter by reducing the relative movement between the rings of the paddles and the sleeve to almost zero.
Another example of construction of a rotary pump according to the invention is shown in FIG. 3 which is a view similar to that of FIG. 1.
In FIG. 3, the central shaft d is a straight shaft fixed along the axis of the cover c and the eccentric disgue .1, mounted at its inner end, carries on the outside the inner ring of a ball or roller bearing. s. the outer ring of which is placed in a central cavity t made in the adjacent part of the rotor ±.
Thus the ball bearing of the inner end of the central shaft in this construction, is placed outside the eccentric disc i, instead of being housed inside as in Figures 1 and 2.
This arrangement gives the bearing an even larger diameter and therefore provides more stable support at the lower end of the shaft.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The pallets 0, in this case, can be provided with rigid members as we said previously and are connected to the rings u mounted side by side on the central shaft by means of the ball bearings v at the rate of one for each Ring .
As in figure 1, there are 12 rings here and
4 pallets so, the pallets are held at three different points placed along the shaft.
It can be seen from figure 3 that the inner end of the rotor is stably supported by a ball or roller bearing w arranged around a disc or an eccentric block which is fixed at the end. right side of the shaft, and is connected to the cover ¯ ± by keys or studs.
Similarly, it can be seen in Figures 1 and 3 that the nut allows the section h or the central shaft d to penetrate into the cover, so as to firmly secure the ball or roller bearing. figure 1) or v and w (figure 3).
The constructions of the pompas shown in the drawings are of advantageous use for high speed compressors and for blower machines used for supercharging internal combustion engines or for other purposes. Indeed, the ball mounting of the central shaft, the rotor and the vanes makes it possible to obtain a high output with the minimum of difficulties for the lubrication,
In addition, the pump parts are easy to disassemble and assemble and can be manufactured at a relatively low cost.
