   Ce carburateur est essentiellement caractérisé par la combinaison : 1 /   d'un   diffuseur ordinaire de carburateur; 2 / d'un papillon ou vanne de réglage placé en amont du col du diffuseur; 3 /   d'un   dispositif produisant un mélange combustible très riche sensiblement au niveau du réservoir de combustible et capable d'élever le combustible liquide de ce réservoir à ce dispositif créateur de mélange très riche;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  “Carburetor for explosive engines” The present invention relates to a carburetor intended more especially for supplying explosive engines.

   This carburetor is essentially characterized by the combination of: 1 / an ordinary carburetor diffuser; 2 / a butterfly or regulating valve placed upstream of the diffuser neck; 3 / a device producing a very rich fuel mixture substantially at the level of the fuel tank and capable of raising the liquid fuel from this tank to this device creating a very rich mixture;

   4 / a large diameter pipe opening into the diffuser a little downstream from the neck of the latter and bringing the very rich mixture to this point under the effect of the suction created by the motor and the diffuser, and 5 / a pipe making the diverging part of the diffuser communicate with the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 free level of a constant level closed in communication with the fuel tank and into which the device for creating a very rich mixture is fed, this device having the effect of raising the fuel in the rear tank to the constant level and '' ensure differential operation of the carburetor,
The device for creating a very rich mixture can be located either in the vicinity of the engine or in the vicinity of the fuel tank.

   The accompanying drawing shows by way of example in fig.l a schematic diametrical section of a carburetor according to the invention.

   In fig. 2 a schematic elevation of a variant.

   TQ1 that is shown in the drawing in this embodiment, the carburetor comprises an ordinary carburetor diffuser a provided with an adjusting butterfly valve b in the form of a sliding valve; downstream of the neck c of this diffuser opens a large diameter pipe ci extending until substantially at the level of the reservoir e placed below. By pipe of large diameter or here means a tube of sufficient diameter to convey, without harmful condensation but without exaggerated pressure drops, a rich mixture of air and fuel in which the quantity of fuel transported corresponds to that necessary for the power to the motor.

   For example for a Venturi having in its narrowed section a diameter of 2 mm. , the pipe d may advantageously have an internal diameter of 6 mm.

   The pipe d ends at the bottom with a Venturi tube! in the neck of which ends a small diameter pipe ± which connects the Venturi f, at a closed constant level m, itself in communication by a pipe n with a point of the diffuser located downstream of the neck c and by a pipe o with

 the rear tank e. This carburetor is thus mounted as a differential carburetor, the main carburizing device also functioning as an idle carburizing device.
The operation of this carburator is as follows:
During normal operation, the depression exerted on n is relatively low and the depression at the end of d in the diffuser relatively high due to the speed of passage of the air which enters the diffusas *.

   So it happens. a strong suction in the Venturi f, suction which is sufficient to suck the quantity of gasoline necessary for the formation of a very rich mixture in the pipe d and to raise the gasoline of the rear tank e to the constant level m ,
When, for idling, the valve b 'is almost completely closed, the depression on n increases, but that on the end of the tube d which opens into the diffuser is also great; this depression is increased by the effect of the Venturi f which causes the tube to deliver into this Venturi, despite the depression created on the free level of the liquid by n.

   It can be seen that with such a carburetor, the normal running and idling device only has to raise the gasoline to the constant level m, the Venturi tube f being able to be placed as low as desired.

   In the embodiment shown in fig.2, the constant level m and the Venturi f are transferred to the fuel tank. The large diameter pipe d then extends in the vicinity of the reservoir e to the engine. The operation of the device is the same; that previously with the only difference that the very rich mixture is formed in the vicinity of the reservoir e; it is conveyed from this point to the engine by the large diameter pipe d. Of course, the constant level could be built into the upper part of the tank e.
