<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Grinding or milling machine".
The present invention relates to a grinding or milling machine for roughing, milling or polishing profiled stone blocks.
It is known) in machines of this kind, to move from top to bottom and bottom to top above the part being treated which advances, and following the profile imposed by a linear template, the tool to grinding or milling, cylindrical or profiled, mounted on a rocking arm.
According to the present invention, the tilting arm in the form of a fork, which in a known manner carries the

control lever, can swivel around the fork handle. It is thus possible to place and immobilize the tool axis in oblique positions chosen at will) while the work surface from workpiece to. to process is determined by 'jigs against which tool stop rollers are applied. The tool itself may be in the form of a cylindrical, conical, or in any way profiled drum, and lined with roughing or polishing devices or milling knives, the drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention. 'invention.
Fig. 1 shows a side view of the new machine.
Fig. 2 shows a front view.
Fig. 3 is a top view of the rocking arm with the drive motor.
Figs. 4 and 5 respectively show cylindrical and profiled grinding rollers,
The machine has the lower part ± in which the guide rails of the table. 2 are supported on rollers b. The table is used to receive the part to be treated. At the lower part are still fixed the two side frames dl and d2. These two frames d1 and d2 carry the bearings el and e2, which can be moved in the direction of the height and which serve to support the rotating shaft, 1 :. In the middle of this shaft is a bezel-shaped bearing in which is supported the handle of the fork ± of the grinding roller. This fork also comprises a fixing platform for the drive motor h which must therefore participate in the movements of the grinding wheel.
The posterior part of this form of fixing rests by a support s on

the handle of the fork g. It is thus possible to employ a simple belt drive for the control of the; grinding cylinder i. The cylinder 1 is supported in the bearings formed by the support fork of this cylinder.
The two guide rollers k1 and k2 are mounted on the shaft of the grinding cylinder so as to be able to turn. On the table are still fixed the two templates ml and m2. The two guide rollers k1 and k2 roll on these templates and transmit to the cylinder j, above the workpiece, the movement determined by the profiles of the templates. The advance of the table is produced by means of the handwheel via a pinion .0 meshing with a rack p fixed to the table. However, the progress can also be made automatic. The raising and lowering of the fork of the grinding cylinder is carried out by means of two threaded rods cl and 2 which are guided in the side frames.
The control of these threaded rods is carried out by hand by means of the handcuff wheel r, by means of endless screws and helical toothed wheels.
It works as follows:
The room (s) at. process are placed on the table which has been moved forward and provided with the necessary templates.
The table is then moved in the direction of the cylinder to be grinded, enough so that the guide rollers k1 and k2 can rest on the protrusions of the jigs, after which the movement of the table is continued by means of the handwheel or automatically. The dust produced can be removed by means of a special dust extraction device, which is not shown.
As shown in Fig. 4, the cylinder is established in the form of a hollow body. This metallic body receives a coating of an appropriate abrasive material.

property.
Fig. 5 shows a profiled cylinder. This cylinder is formed at will by means of individual grinding wheels; as is also done on strawberries. Fearing that the cylinder is not too heavy, the various discs or grinding wheels can be made of wood and lined around the periphery with a suitable abrasive material.
With a cylinder of this type, for example, the most diverse and complicated profiles for jamb stones can be cut in a short time.
