Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   On obvie   à   tous ces inconvénients au moyen du dispositif de contrôle établi conformément à la pré- sente invention, dispositif dans lequel chaque compteur individuel comporte un électro-aimant pour sa mise en ac- tion et un interrupteur   à   clé;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

   R e v e n d i e a t i o n s :

 <Desc/Clms Page number 7>

  For: "Device for checking the quantity of petrol withdrawn from the same tank by several people"
Devices are known for controlling the quantity of gasoline taken from the same tank by several people, devices in which a key is used to turn a switch, close an electric circuit, energize an electromagnet, unlock the device. filling and activate the corresponding counter at the same time as a main switch is activated by means of a switch.

   In these devices, there was only one checking device for all the people who took gasoline, which did not make it possible to avoid errors in checking and recording and which made checking impossible. rapid and digital quantities of gasoline withdrawn by the various people.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   However, devices are also known for controlling the quantities of gasoline withdrawn, by means of keys, from the same tank, by several people, devices in which several individual meters have been provided. These devices have the drawback that they do not indicate the total of the individual liquid withdrawals and that, when resetting a counter, they require modifications to the constructions.

   All these drawbacks are overcome by means of the control device established in accordance with the present invention, a device in which each individual meter comprises an electromagnet for its activation and a key switch;

   these switches are interconnected to the electromagnets of the individual meters, to a current source, to an electromagnet which serves to release the lock of the filling device and to a switch placed in the circuit of the filling devices. electromagnets of the individual meters, in such a way that by turning a key switch, the circuit which connects these switches to each other is opened, the circuit of the electromagnet of the lock is closed, thus causing the release of the lock. said lock and the circuit of the electromagnets of the individual meters is closed, when the filling device is released, the appropriate individual counter as well as the general counter then being put into action.

   In the accompanying drawing, two embodiments of the device which forms the subject of the present invention have been shown.

   Fig. 2 is a side view with the case cut off.

   Fig. 3 is an elevational view of the key switch disposed in this apparatus.

   Fig. 4 shows the tap handle and its lock.

   Fig. 5 shows the contact actuated by the aforementioned handle.

   Fig. 6 is a general diagram of the entire device with its electrical connections.

   Fig. 7 is a diagram of a second example.

   At the appropriate location, for example against the wall of a large garage, a certain number of control devices have been fixed 1. Each device has a lock 2, a switch 3 controlled by the key of this lock, an electro magnet 4, a counter 5 and a return spring 6 for the core 41 of the electromagnet 4. Each switch has two contacts 7.8 in the form of a sector and arranged concentrically with respect to the axis of the 'switch, two upper contacts 9 and 10 arranged one beside the other and a lower contact 11. At rest, the contacts 7 and 8 of each device are connected to each other by means of the switch lever 12; each contact 8 of one device is linked to contact 7 of the next device and contact 8 of the last device is linked to return wire 13.

   The contact 9 of each device is connected to the electromagnet 4 of the same device and the contacts 10 connected to each other are connected with an unlocking electromagnet 15 interposed on the return wire 14 and described later. . Contacts 11 of the devices are linked together

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 to the others and to the incoming wire 16. The electromagnet 4 of each device is connected to the contact 7 of the next device and the electromagnet of the last device is connected to the return wire 13. The core 41 of each electromagnet 4 is connected by means of a rod 17 to the lever 18 which actuates the counter mechanism 5.

   On the return wire 13 of the electromagnets 4 is interposed a switch 19 provided with platinum contacts 20 and 21 which touch each other, under the action of a rod 25 which can be lifted by the counter 22, when said meter (main meter) attached to the tie rod 23, comes into action in the known manner, when the handle 24 of the tap (fig. 4 and 6) is turned to the right, which contacts then close the circuit of the electro- magnets 4.

   In the rest position (fig. 4), the core 26 of the unlocking electromagnet 15 penetrates into a notch 27 of the hub 28 of the handle 24 of the valve and thus constitutes a lock for the valve in question, so so that it is impossible to cause by rotation of the lever 24 the opening of the valve as long as the lock is engaged in the aforementioned handle.

   The operation of the control device which has just been described takes place as follows!
When the device is not in use, all the switch-levers 12 are in the horizontal position and the circuit is open. When a driver wants to take gasoline, he inserts his key into the control device assigned to him and turns the switch-lever 12 to put it, from the horizontal position, to the vertical position. As a result, contact 11 is connected to contacts 9 and 10 and that the current coming from contact 10 passes through the unlocking electromagnet.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 15 to go to the return wire 14. The electromagnet 15 is thus energized and releases the handle 24 of the faucet by removing the latch 26.

   The handle 24 of the tap is then turned to the right (fig. 4 and 6) the switch 19 and, consequently, the circuit of the electromagnet 4 of the considered apparatus is closed, which causes the switching on. in action of counter 5 of this device. During the rotation of the handle 24 of the faucet, the main counter 22 is also activated. As a result, the quantity of petrol taken off by the driver in question as well as the totality of the petrol are counted. After the desired quantity of petrol has been drawn off, the switch lever 12 is returned to the horizontal position and the circuit is interrupted again; latch 26 then falls back into the notch 27 of lever 24 of the valve returned to the initial position and blocks it.

   As soon as another device is activated by its key, the control of the quantity of gasoline withdrawn takes place again at the same time as that of the total quantity, while the current is interrupted in all the other devices, so that it is impossible to withdraw gasoline without this withdrawal being recorded. The number of devices in an installation can be multiplied at will, which is impossible with installations which have only been designed for 3 and 5 devices.

   In the example established in accordance with FIG. 7, the electromagnet 15 need only lift the latch 261 out of a notch 271 of a locking disc 29, while the release of a second latch 262 out of the notch 27 of the hub 28 of the handle 24 of the tap takes place by rotation of a locking disc 29 provided

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 a handle 31 and carrying a lock 262 which can slide freely between two pins 30, this rotation can only take place when the first lock is released.

   R e v e n d i e a t i o n s:
1) Device for controlling the quantity of essen- tial withdrawn, by means of keys, in the same tank, by several people, device in which several individual meters are provided and in which one controls, using a key, a switch which closes a circuit determining the excitation of an electromagnet, unlocking the lock of the filling device and activating the appropriate counter, this device being characterized by the following points:

   Each individual meter has an electromagnet to operate this device and a key switch, which switch is connected to analogous switches of other devices, to the electromagnets of individual devices, to a current source, to an electromagnet. ensuring the release of the lock of the filling device and to a switch arranged in the circuit of the electromagnets of the individual devices, in such a way that by turning a key switch, the circuit which connects these switches is opened. between them, the circuit of the electromagnet of the lock is closed, thus causing the release of said lock and the circuit of the electromagnets of the individual meters is closed when the filling device is released, the individual meter appropriate as well as the general counter then being put into action.
