Construction process of reinforced concrete hollow ceilings, with the use of wood pulp hollow bodies
The present invention has poar object a method of oons- traction hollow reinforced concrete ceilings. The novelty lies in the use of hollow bodies made of paper pulp (wood pulp) which are established in the interior of concrete ceilings. reinforced for the provision of large hollow spaces in these ceilings. By this means, the weight of the ceiling is reduced, its insulating power against heat and noise is increased and the cost price is much lower than that of the ceilings currently constructed with hollow bricks of clay, concrete or slag.

The wood pulp hollow bodies can be made of any desired profile, so that it will be possible to give the remaining concrete layer the best static shape Due to the relatively low weight, it will be easy to lay molded parts relatively bulky even.

Hollow dough bodies are not brittle and easy to store and transport.

The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, a

ceiling built according to the new process.

Figs. 1 and 2 show in section (along line AB) and in plan, a ceiling built in reinforced concrete and hollow body in pulp (wood pulp) Fig. 3 represents a side view with partial section, a embodiment of a hollow body, made of wood pulp.

Fig. 4 shows a hollow body of wood pulp seen from below. b is the reinforced concrete ceiling; a, a are the hollow bodies in wood pulp, arranged in parallel rows; between the rows of hollow bodies a, the reinforcing bars known per se have been placed, For the hanging of coating e, a metallic fabric g has been made which is fixed to the bodies a by nails or screws. Each hollow body has at one end a reduced extension n, and at the other end has an opening o in which penetrates the diminished extension of the neighboring hollow body. At each side wall of the hollow bodies, there is provided a projection k through which each body a comes into contact with the corresponding bodies of the neighboring rows.

During the construction of a ceiling, the wood pulp hollow bodies a are stored on the ceiling formwork, longitudinally,
 EMI2.1
and transvràement so that the projections touch each other and thus constitute a leg of the formwork; then the iron bars c are laid and the concrete is applied, which in these conditions can bond directly with the plaster. if this adheres better to the base of the bodies a, this base is provided with hollow h. Another system to better hold the plaster consists of placing directly on the underside of the ceiling, a metallic fabric g and applying the then coated.

Hollow wood pulp bodies can be pressed at will, they do not absorb moisture, and they can possibly be impregnated or injected with water-repellent agents (asphalt, resins, glue, etc.) the wood pulp can also be added to filling materials, such as, for example, pumice stone, cork, etc.

Claims (1)

2) -The following special provisions: a) The hollow bodies are arranged in parallel rows; they are provided with side projections by which they touch each other, and they are connected at their ends with each other, so that when the concrete is applied, concrete stiffening ribs are formed between the bodies. b) for the ceiling plaster to adhere better, the hollow bodies have a rough base surface or have recesses or holes; c) the wood pulp hollow bodies are impregnated with substances which increase their resistance or prevent them from rotting.
