Moteur hydraulique .
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
circuit l'enroulement 14b.
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

Hydraulic motor.
The present invention relates to a hydraulic piston motor for bringing and holding a part of a receiving apparatus in a position and subsequently returning it to its initial position.
Such a motor is generally suitable for controlling signals, switches and particularly for controlling the opening and closing of doors.
The control of movements of this kind by compressed air motors requires numerous complications and does not have all the advantages which the motor produced according to the invention offers from this point of view.
In the particular case considered, compressed air motors can only operate under favorable conditions if there is a back pressure behind the piston intended to reduce the speed at which the motor intervenes. This obviously leads to higher consumption of energy.
In the engine produced according to the invention, the back pressure liable to hinder the movement of the engine is reduced to a minimum so as to decrease as much as
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
possible the quantity of pressurized liquid consumed for a driving operation.
A device for controlling the opening and closing of doors should have the following characteristics:
The opening and more particularly the closing of the doors must not be done with too high a speed and this must be damped when the moving parts are immobilized in order to avoid excessive impacts. It should be possible to achieve by the motor the maintenance of the receiving organs in a. determined position corresponding for example to the closing of the doors or to the engagement of a switch.
On the other hand, when the engine is in the rest position, it is advisable to intercept the communication between the cylinders and the source of pressurized liquid in order to avoid losses of engine liquid by the leaks which may fortuitously exist between the pistons. and their cylinders.
In the event that the motor is used to control the doors of a vehicle, passengers in a car, for example, should have a safety device, normally unused and sealed, intended to cause the doors to open. of the car in the event of accidents.
The engine produced according to the invention can have all or parts of the characteristics listed above.
The drawing represents, by way of example and without limitation, the diagram of a double-acting hydraulic motor with differential piston produced according to the invention.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
tion and intended to control the opening and closing of doors. The invention extends to the various original features included in the arrangement shown.
According to the figure, the engine 2 comprises two cylinders 3a, 3b in which the pistons 4a, 4b can move, wedged on the same rod 4. On this rod is cut the teeth of a rack meshing with a toothed sector 5 wedged on the motor shaft 6 intended to actuate the door opening or closing control device or another receiver. The movements of the differential piston 4a, 4b result from the action of liquid supplied by a reservoir 8 and in which it is kept under pressure.
Pipes 9 and 10 connect the reservoir 8 on the one hand with the cylinder 3a, on the other hand with the cylinder 3b.
The cylinder 3a in which the large piston 4a is arranged can also be connected to a discharge tank 12 by a pipe 11 connected to the pipe 9.
The liquid from the discharge tank 12 may for example be delivered by a pump into the tank 8.
The pipe 9 comprises upstream of the connection 11 with respect to the direction of the fluid flow directed towards the cylinder 3a a shutter 13, consisting for example of a ball, biased towards the closed position by the pressure of the liquid contained in the reservoir 8 and which can be opened by a control mechanism produced by way of example in the form of an electromagnet 14 whose core 14a placed under the influence of an electrical winding 14b, can by its movement cause the opening in question, The connection 11 comprises, in the exemplary form of a ball, a shutter 15 subjected to the action
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
a spring 15a capable of withstanding the action of the pressurized liquid on the ball,
This shutter 15 can be opened against the action of the spring 15a by the intermediary of a control mechanism produced, for example, by an electromagnet. This opening will be made so as to offer the flow of liquid discharged from the large cylinder a large passage section, in order to reduce as much as possible the back pressure in the large cylinder.
With a view to simplifying the device, the electromagnet 14 may comprise two windings 14b, 14c so that the movements of the core 14 open the shutter 13 in one direction and the shutter 15 in the other. The pipe 10 comprises, in the exemplary form of a ball, a shutter 16 which is biased towards its closed position, for example by its weight as well as by a flow of liquid directed in the direction corresponding to the period of discharge of liquid from the small cylinder 3b, but which can be kept open despite this stress by a control device made in the form of an electromagnet 17, the core 17a of which, moved under the influence of the electric winding 17b, can maintain the shutter ball 16 in the open position.
The pipe 10 further comprises a shutter 18 intended to reduce the section offered to the passage of the liquid stream directed in the direction corresponding to the admission into the small cylinder 3b and arranged so as to retract to provide the maximum passage section. to the flow of liquid directed in the opposite direction.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
It can easily be seen in this way that the resistance resulting from the back pressure during the discharge of liquid from the small cylinder will be reduced at the exact rate corresponding to the pressure existing in the tank 8. The shutter 18 can be made under the pressure. Form of a valve with leakage at the seat or with "by-pass" the size of the leak or the flow rate by the "by-pass" which can also be adjustable.
According to the drawing, the shutter 18 consists of a ball held away from its seat by a needle 18a, the movement of which makes it possible to adjust the size of the passage section left free between the ball and its seat.
Finally, the pipe 10 comprises a shutter 19 capable of being moved according to the position of the piston 4b. According to the figure, the shutter 19 consisting of a ball subjected to the action of a spring 19a, can be moved away from its seat by the part 4c integral with the piston 4b, and this for all the positions of this piston 4b other than that shown in the figure and corresponding to the end of the driving stroke of this piston. Towards the end of the driving stroke of the piston 4b, the shutter 19 approaching its seat throttles the flow of motor liquid and thus causes a damping effect at the end of the stroke. It finally intercepts the communication between the reservoir 8 and the cylinder 3b .
A connection 20 grafted onto the pipe 10 on the side of the reservoir 8 leads to the plug of the three-way valve 21, from which two pipes 22a, 22b issue respectively into the cylinders 3a, 3b.
The electrical connections of electromagnets 14 and 17
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
capable of controlling the operation of the motor by their action on the shutters 13, 15 and 16 can be arranged as follows: Each of the windings 14b, 17a, 14c has one of its ends connected to ground. The other ends of these windings are respectively connected to the abc pads of a "controller" A whose movable contact d is connected to one pole of an electrical energy source e whose other pole is grounded. .
However, the circuit of the electromagnet 14c comprises, according to the invention, a closed switch for all the positions of the pistons except those immediately situated in the vicinity of the point corresponding to the end of the driving stroke of. small cylinder. This switch may for example consist of a circular slider 5a integral with the toothed sector 5, the axis 6 of which is grounded, and capable of coming into contact with a flexible conductive blade 14d connected to the electrical winding 14c of the electro magnet .
This being the case and starting from the state shown in the figure, to cause the movement of the pistons 4a, 4b in the direction of arrow 0 it suffices to rotate the movable contact d in the direction of arrow O1.
The contact d on meeting the pad b first causes, by switching on the winding 17a, the opening of the shutter 16 which will allow the evacuation of the liquid which will be discharged by the piston 4b.
The contact d then meeting the stud has put in
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
winding circuit 14b. The core 14a moves, opens the shutter 13 against the action resulting from the pressure of the liquid from the reservoir 8, which is admitted through the pipe 9 into the cylinder 3a without being able to escape through the pipe 11 whose shutter 15 is kept closed by the sufficiently powerful spring 15a.
It goes without saying that the lifting of the shutter 13 can be adjusted so that the speed of movement of the pistons does not exceed the admissible limits.
The pistons begin to move and at the same time as them the rod 4c which opens the shutter 19 despite the action of the spring 19a. The liquid discharged from the cylinder 3b lifts 1 shutter 18 and everywhere finds the maximum passage section which greatly reduces the back pressure on the piston 4b. When the pistons reach the full stroke in the direction of arrow 0, the contact d can be brought outside the field of the pads a b c.
In this position the pistons oppose any external action tending to move them in the direction of the arrow F, a resistance depending on the difference between the surfaces of the pistons 4a, 4b since at this time the same pressure reigns in the cylinders 3a, 3b, This difference in surface area and the aforementioned pressure could for example be such that the result of an action of determined importance on the device driven by the motor is insufficient to move the pistons in the direction of arrow F.
To return from the position corresponding to the end of the driving stroke of the piston 3a to that shown in the figure, it suffices to move the movable contact d in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
direction of arrow F1. As soon as it meets the pad c ', the electrical winding 14c is switched on and the core 14a opens the shutter 15 against the action of the spring 15a. The cylinder 3a is placed in relation with the reservoir 12 where the pressure is lower than that of the reservoir 8 and such that the thrust on the piston 4b exceeds the resultant of the back pressure on the piston 4a, the passive resistances of the device and the resistance of the receiver.
When the pistons reach the full stroke in the direction of the arrow F the sector 5a connected to the mass ceases to be in contact with the conductive flexible blade 14d and the shutter 15 closes following the interruption of the current in the circuit of the electromagnet 14c. In this position of the pistons any external action tending to cause them to move in the direction of arrow 0 is inoperative, because of the resistance resulting either from the closing of the shutter 16 preventing any discharge of liquid from the cylinder 3b or from the closing of the shutters 13 and 15 causing the creation in the cylinder 3a of a vacuum preventing any admission of liquid into the cylinder 3a, evacuation or admission which would result from a displacement, however small, of the pistons.
It goes without saying that the device could have the advantage of maintaining the controlled part in a determined position in only one of the ways indicated, that is to say for example by means of the shutters 13 and 15 to the exclusion of the shutter 16.
It is possible to pass the pistons from the
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
end-of-travel position shown in the figure, to the opposite extreme position without having to resort to the shutter control device. It suffices to put the cylinders 3a, 3b simultaneously in relation to the reservoir 8, for example by means of a three-way valve 21 capable of connecting the pipes 22a, 22b with the branch 20 of the pipe 10.
Under the effect of the thrust, acting on the large piston 4a and not counterbalanced by that acting on the small piston 4b, the pistons will move in the direction of arrow 0 to the full stroke.
The motor described is therefore perfectly suitable for controlling the closing and opening of doors. In this case, the movement of the pistons along arrow F will command closing and the reverse movement along arrow 0 will control opening. By restricting the flow of liquid during intake periods, the displacement speed of the pistons can be kept below the allowable limit in order to avoid too abrupt closing and opening and the resulting shocks. at the end of the race. On the other hand, passengers should be able to open the doors in the event of an accident without the intervention of the wattman or the operator of the vehicle or convoy.
The three-way valve 21 makes it possible to achieve this desideratum as we have seen above
