<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Acoustic control device for electric heaters.
The present invention relates to an apparatus which makes it possible to control by an acoustic means the correct operation of one or more electrical resistances.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, a schematic embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig.l shows an acoustic control device switched on and off by a relay.
Fig. 2 shows another example of execution in which an electric gong provided with a coil forms a relay, while the other coil is connected to the switch to actuate the gong clapper.
If we put in the circuit of the source of electricity 1 (fig.l) an electromagnetic coil 2, a fuse 3 and a resistor 4, for example a filament lamp, the circuit being closed, the current flows through electromagnetic coil 2, fuse 3, resistor 4, and there it returns to source 1.-
With the circuit closed, and the fuse and resistor intact, the electromagnetic coil will be energized and it will attract the armature attached to a leaf spring. It results from the attraction of the framework 5
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
by the electromagnetic magnetization of the coil 2 an empty space between the armature 5 and the contact screw 6, so that the checking device, for example a gong 7, remains out of the circuit.
If there now occurs without switch 8 being opened, an interruption in the circuit, for example the fuse blows or the lamp burns out, coil 2 will be switched off and it will no longer attract armature 5. The @ bell will be turned on and it will ring to indicate that something abnormal has occurred.
In the example of fig. 2, an acoustic device -for example a gong 12- and a coil 9 are connected to a current source 1 in such a way that, the switch 8 being closed, the current from the source 1 passes through coil 9, fuse 3, resistor 4 and from there returns to source 1. With the circuit closed, armature 11 is attracted, which can be seen in solid lines in fig.2.
As the coil 10 is connected to the source of electricity 1 after the switch 8 on the one hand, and on the other hand to the contact screw 13 itself connected to the source 1 when it touches the armature 11 @ The result is that, the switch 8 being closed, the coil 10 will receive current only if it no longer passes through the coil 9; in other words, the bell will resonate if the fuse 3 or the resistor 4 are burnt, because the armature Il is no longer attracted by the coil 9, it takes the position 11 'where it comes into contact with the screw 13, which has the effect of switching on the coil 10.
Lamp 4 could be replaced by one or more other resistors. The electro system
