<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Further development of the system spinning machine
The object of the present invention is an improvement in the spinning machine known under the name of "continuous Max, CHAPON system".
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The purpose of this machine is to give twist to the wicks produced by the spinner card and to unwind them in the special form of cocoons unwinding from the inside. It is partially shown schematically and in cross section in the figure. 1 where it can be seen that it consists essentially of a food drum. 1 on which are placed the cinnamon of carding machine and which unrolls the wicks, in greater or lesser number, which each of these comprises; by a food cylinder 2 with pressure roller 3 which attracts these wicks and by a series of pins 4 of principle @ similar to that of machines known as Spindle benches, but differing in their method of winding in the form of a cocoon can.
These pins to which the wires go at the exit of the food cylinder and in the. detail of the constitution of which it would be pointless to enter here, give the wick the desired twist and produce the winding.
A serious drawback of this machine lies in the fact that each thread breakage requires for its reattachment the stopping of the entire machine.
Indeed, if even an equips the. spindle of a disengaging system making it possible to produce its individual stop, the broken bit continues to be fed by cylinder 2 throughout the long enough time required for the maneuver which consists, before being able to proceed with: reattaching, remove the cocoon from the spit, look for the broken end, then put the cocoon back in place: This wick thus abandoned flutters in all directions under the slightest influence, blends with the neighboring threads and thus causes new breakages.
The improvement, which is the subject of the present invention, overcomes these drawbacks. It avoids marriages between neighboring sons and thus leaves all the time needed for the worker to reattach after having disengaged the: spindle .. the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The essential characteristic of the invention consists in having an appropriate device which separates the broken wick from neighboring threads in order to prevent their marriage.
This slide may, according to the invention be formed by placing, as close as possible to the wire if not in contact with it, a cylinder rotating in the opposite direction to that of the food cylinder, so that the broken wire falling naturally on it or being thrown back into it with a finger touch by the worker be deviated from the plane of the neighboring threads and directed backwards to come and deposit on a board where it accumulates while waiting for the reattachment has been made.
To better understand the particularities of the invention, the following description) with reference to the attached schematic drawings will show only by way of example, three embodiments of the invention
FIG. 2 is a schematic sectional view of a machine provided with an embodiment of the improvement of the invention; while Figures 3 and 4 are views of the same machine provided with the other two embodiments of the invention.
Referring firstly to Figure 2, it can be seen that the device of the invention consists in placing a cylinder 5 in contact with the food cylinder 2 which thus directly gives it the desired reverse rotational movement, this contact occurring with a certain pressure due to the fact that the cylinder 5 is supported at each of its ends by a lever 6 articulated at a point 7 fixed with respect to the cylinder 2 and comprising a counterweight 8.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The operation of the illustrated embodiment is easily understood. The; broken wick in fact falls by itself, this movement being able to be accentuated by a finger stroke of the worker, on the cylinder 5 which drives it and the. deposit on the. board 9.
Bans the embodiment of Figure 3, the. pressure of cylinder 5 on cylinder 2 is produced by the fact that, instead of being supported by rockers, is supported by springs 10. In this figure 3, the cylinder 5 is admitted provided at its two ends, with bosses by which only it bears on the. cylinder 2, thus leaving a certain clearance between these two cylinders at the place where the broken wires pass, in order to avoid that under the effect of the pressure they tend to wind around the food cylinder. Obviously this arrangement with bosses of the cylinder (5) can be admitted together with that of FIG. 2 where the pressure is produced by rockers.
In the embodiment of Figure 4, the cylinder 5 of the previous figure is replaced by another cylinder 11 still located closest to the wire but no longer in direct contact with the food cylinder 2. This cylinder 11 is then controlled in the desired direction from the gears 12 and 13. and supports a pressure roller 14 by means of which the broken bits are always caused to settle on the. board 9.
The operation of the embodiments of stations 3 and 4 is easily understood and is similar to that of the embodiment of FIG. 2.
Moreover, the preceding description 'having given, by way of example, three embodiments of the invention,

an can without leaving it, realize it differently.
