EMI1.2
Si d'autre part, l'on a recours a uns barre préala-
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Et afin que l'on puisse bien comprendre de quelie manière les caractéristiques ci-dessus pourront être prati- quement réalisées, l'invention sera décrite plus complète- ment ci-après dans son application a l'établissement do cer- taines pièces plus particulièrement délicates d'exécution, tels notamment des encadrements métalliques continus, comme figure au dessin annexa dans lequel .;
Fig. 1 est une vue de face de pareil enoadrement;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Fies. 2 et 3 sont des coupes respectivement prati- quàas par AB et CD de la fig. 1; Figé 4 sst une coupe de l'ébauche de départ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

P1RFBCTIONERZN1 \ S AT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF F'0 ± fiB o01,? BL3XB CLAMPS WITH PROFILED SECTION.
EMI1.2
The invention relates to the establishment of complex shaped parts, the section of which has a profile which is also more or less complicated.
In order to economically establish parts of this kind, they are generally formed by casting, but if the shell casting usually gives good results, it remains inapplicable to obtaining parts of relatively small section and large. dimensions, due to the prohibitive costs of the necessary tools.
Sand casting, in itself economical in these cases, can only give very inferior parts in terms of homogeneity and resistance as well as appearance.
It cannot therefore be suitable for parts that must meet the conditions of resistance and finish.
If on the other hand, we have recourse to a preliminary bar
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
blame profiled to the conformation, of the desired section, by rolling or stretching, and that an attempt is made to bring this bar to the conformation of the part to be obtained, it is observed that warps and other marked deformations occur during the work, and finishing take on such importance that the cost price is exaggerated.
The object of the invention is above all to remedy these drawbacks, and to economically procure parts, in particular of complex shape, of large dimensions and of reduced and profiled cross-section.
It consists for this purpose, in general, u use a rolled or stretched blank, having on the one hand, in the parts which to be brought to the orna of the desired part, will undergo only slight deformation . or deformations which do not obviously alter the resistance and other qualities, the exact profile of this finished part, and on the other hand, in the other parts, an additional material, such that, conformed, the desired profile then s to meet it with the qualities of resistance which it must present; to conform said blank by any desired purification, and finally to free the rest of the profile by appropriate machining.
It also consists in carrying out shaping operations on a template and in maintaining this mounting on a template during machining and, or subsequent completion.
And so that one can clearly understand how the above characteristics can be practically achieved, the invention will be described more fully below in its application to the establishment of certain parts more particularly. delicate execution, such in particular continuous metal frames, as figure in the accompanying drawing in which.
Fig. 1 is a front view of such an enoadrement;
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Fies. 2 and 3 are respectively practical sections through AB and CD in FIG. 1; Fig 4 is a section of the starting blank;
Fig. 5 shows this shaped blank and mounted on a template, before machining.
As shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3, the part is of relatively complex shape and reduced section with more or less excavated profile, comprising for example a body 1, a grooved groove 2 with relatively thin walls, and external fins. 4 on some of its sides.
According to the invention, to produce such a part, one starts with a blank 5 as shown in FIG. 4, exhibiting in the parts subjected to stresses which do not compromise the resistance, for example compressions, very appreciably the profile of Figures 2 and 3, and in the parts subjected to significant stresses and deformations, and for example by traction, as in 6, fig. 1, an additional material such that these deformations can be obtained without appreciably altering the resistance of the finished profile shown in broken lines,
On the other hand, a template 3 is prepared (fig.
5) on which, by appropriate means and with the aid of heat if necessary, the blank 5 is conformed which is then secured in a suitable manner to this template, for example by means of the parts fastener 7.
The machining operations necessary to clear the profile are then carried out, for example by milling the excess parts 8 and 9, the fins 4 then being able to be shaped at the places where they must be maintained.
Free from the template, the part is suitable for its intended use, without requiring any straightening or other finishing operations.
As goes without saying and as has already been implied, it is understood that the invention is not limited
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
to the execution of the only parts more specially written and represented but applies on the contrary to all parts having similar features.
