" FAUTEUIL "
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

" ARMCHAIR "
The present invention relates to an armchair having the bat to allow the backrest to take substantially the shape of the back of the person occupying the chair.
To this end, in an armchair according to the invention, the casing of the backrest consists of elastic elements which peavent be, for example, son of springs. Said ele- ments generally include spring wires, maintained over the years against the others by ligatures.
Preferably, some of the spring wires joined together in the same element separate at the point of junction of several elements, so as to form part of distinct elements.
Further details and peculiarities of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawing appended to this specification and which represents, schematically, in
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
perspective, and by way of example only, one embodiment of the backrest frame of an armchair followed the invention.
We see the carcass da back of an armchair whose elements consist of son of springs 2 maintenas in contact with the years of others by ligatares constituted for example by a cord 3 surrounding these son preferably over their entire length. Almost all the elements of this carcass have more than one spring wire 2. Toas the wires constituting an elements do not at the same time constitute elements which aboatize to this element. Thus for example, some of the wires of a part of the hanger, such as the wires 2 'and 2' 'are part of the upright 4, while other wires of the said part of the hanger, such as 2' '' and 2IV are part of another part of the hanger.
Just as wires such as 2V and 2VI of this other part of the hanger are part of the upright 4. this arrangement of the wires has the advantage of returning more easily to their initial position elements which would have been strongly deformed during the occupation of the chair.
Some of the elements may have less threads than others, for example small amounts
5 and 6. The casing of the backrest could also include cross members which would be connected to the other elements in the same way which has just been described.
This carcass serves as a support for a stuffing constitutes as usual and recoavert of a fabric. The backrest thus constitutes can be mounted on a support in any suitable manner.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, constitution and arrangement of the elements involved.

in its realization without departing from the scope of this patent.
