<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Tap for pressurized water pipes.
The present invention relates to a valve for pressurized water conduits (service valve, passage valve, etc.) of the type in which the actuator causes, on about a quarter turn, the rise or the descent, by screwing, of a part controlling, at the end of the stroke in each direction, the closing of a valve on one of the two seats (upper and lower) included in the valve body.
The essential object of the invention is to create a valve of this type which allows the removal and replacement of any of the moving parts without having to close the dispensing meter, this object being achieved by the combination and the construction described in detail below for the application of the invention to a service valve, and shown in the accompanying drawing in axial vertical section.
The service valve comprises a tubular part 1, to be connected directly to the pressurized water distribution pipe. This tubular part ends in an elbow at

right angle, to form a valve chamber 2, on which is screwed, or fixed in any other ..manner, a fitting. 3; this hollow connection is extended by a screw 4 with a grove. On the screw 4 is screwed the sleeve 5, which constitutes the end or nozzle of the valve.
Solidarity between the end ¯5. and the screw 4 (or better the connector 3) is produced by the operating lever 6; the latter is screwed into the wall of the end 5 which it passes through to end in a recess 7 made on the connector 3 between the head of the latter and the screw 4; in this way, once the handle 6 is in place, the movement in both directions of the end on the screw 4 is limited by the meeting of the front end of the handle 6 and the upper or lower edges of the recess 7. The seal is also provided by a packing 4 '.
End 5, lower than its thread intended to engage on screw 4, has a second thread 6¯ for receiving a hollow tube ¯9 ,, which, above, extends outside the end 5; this tube comprises, in its cylindrical wall, vertical lights 10, extending over approximately the upper half-height and, at its lower part, small openings 11.
Internally, it is lined, at the height of the windows 11, with a bri se-j and 12 filter.
The lower wall of the chamber 2, in the fitting 3, is fitted with a sealing washer 13 made of fiber, with which a valve 14 cooperates, the rod 15 of which is engaged exactly in an upper central hole of the hollow tube 9, The upper wall of this chamber, in the tube or body 1, comprises a central opening 16, with a rim 17 constituting a valve seat, to cooperate with the upper face of the valve 14 fitted for this purpose with a disc. 18 fiber.
On the other hand, the wall of the central opening 16, which extends cylindrically upwards, ends in a conical part 19, serving as a seat for a valve 20 whose stem
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
freely crosses the hole 16 and ends in the valve 14. in which it is freely housed.
The movement allowed to the handle 6 and therefore to the end 6 is about a quarter or a half turn; in the lowest position of the end 5, the lower face of the valve 14 rests on the ring 13 and therefore closes the passage of water to the tube 9; as soon as the end has risen slightly, the valve 14 leaves its lower seat, the pressurized water passes through the ports 10 and leaves through the tube 9, passing through the jet-breaker filter 12. At the end of its upward stroke, the valve 14 closes the passage 16. In all its positions, the valve 14 is subjected to the pressure of the water, and any play is made impossible. For all the positions of the valve 14, the upper valve 20 leaves its seat 19 free, and therefore does not come into operation during normal operation of the valve.
As soon as one dismantles this - it, for example by removing the handle or by undoing the fitting 3, the valve 20 is released from the valve 14, which withdraws with the fitting, and it comes, by its own weight and under the water pressure, close its seat 19, thus preventing the escape of the liquid during the checking or repair of the valve, without it being necessary to close the meter or the main distribution valve. When the fitting is replaced, the stem of the valve 20 necessarily enters the valve 14, thanks to the centering of the parts.
It is well specified that the invention as it is repeated in the claims below, applies to all types of taps: service taps, bidet taps, lava - bos, passage taps, etc.
