 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  "Register for mechanical or transfer accounting"
It is known that, in a way, the registers with movable leaves and fixed pins extending by screwing the successive elements and opening by a transverse fork or stirrup all aim at the packaging of this stirrup in the lower part of the oarcasse of the register.

   Such registers generally comprise two rods interposed between the two elements of the carcass and on which are plugged in the intervention cL'orifices adequate the sheets of the register. The latter is completed by a caliper which is generally called in the aforesaid manner, and so that the opening of the register and the removal of the sheets require the separation of the upper part and the sliding of the sheets along the fixed pins.

   It

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 The result therefore is that the fact of having to push back all the sheets and disengage them from the permanent pins of the lower part constitutes an appreciable drawback, meoanioue for accounting / or by transfer. the present invention is particularly aimed at the production of a mechanical combination which should allow easier removal of the sheets, in particular with a view to accounting by transfer, in which the sheet must be removed at each entry, no longer reintroduced in its place in the register or in the packet of sheets.

   To this end, the mechanical arrangement according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the introduction of the caliper detaches the lower part of the carcass while being secured with a transverse rigid element which thus maintains the caliper and the sheets. in the required position.

  Therefore, as the fixed pins disengage with the lower part of the carcass, it follows that the leaflets can be removed easily, while they are kept strictly in their respective position. The two parallel branches of the caliper are, according to an original characteristic of the invention, provided with any means for wedging the aforesaid transverse elements at different places of these branches. For example, these will be provided with orifices or inoisions equilistant on e located at the places considered suitable, in such a way that by the elasticity of the mechanical combination, or even by the introduction of pins, pins, needles or equivalent elements, one can easily wedge said transverse elements in any suitable position.

   In order to better highlight the subject of the

 vention, embodiments are shown schematically in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is an elevational view of the mechanical suit according to the invention; Figure 2 is an elevational view of an active leg of the caliper; Figure 3 is a plan view of the transverse wedging element.

   According to these figures and in accordance with the invention, it can therefore be noted that the mechanical device can, according to a preferred embodiment, be understood as follows:
The lower part 1 of the register frame has two fixed pins (2 and 3) on which are fixed the leaflets duly provided with corresponding orifices.

  On the lower part 1 is disposed a blade 4 through which pins 2 and 3 have a solid intermediate surface. The upper part of the carcass is shaped substantially in the known manner and in any event in any manner deemed suitable. A stirrup 6 is introduced into the two elements of the frame, the two branches of which 7 and 8 are provided with notches 9 or orifices which are properly arranged. The transverse dimensions of the branches 7 and 8 of the caliper 6 are established in correspondence with the dimensions of the orifices 10 of the aforesaid transverse strip.

   Indeed, the relationship between the orifices 10 and the branches 7 and 8 should be established so that the transverse lamella can be wedged on said branch, or by the simple fact of a partial embedding of the lamella in the incisions. 9 of the branches of the caliper, @ or again by bringing into the openings of these branches suitable wedging elements.

   Therefore, the handling of a loose-leaf register equipped with such a combination

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 Mechanical finishing is easily carried out in the following way: the different sheets are therefore arranged between the two elements of the carcass and secured by the rigid pins 2 and 3. when it comes to removing one or more sheets, it suffices to introduce the stirrup 6 so that the branches 7 and 8 bearing on the lower element 1 push against the latter, while the lamella 4 is offset on said branches 7 and 8. This results in therefore that the leaflets are maintained in their initial position, while the lower element 1 and the broohes 2 and 3 are separated. the sheets can therefore be easily removed and replaced from the register.
 EMI4.1

  Obviously as explained previously. the means of wedging the transverse blade 4 is in principle arbitrary, as are the shape and dimensions of the various bodies described above.

   CLAIMS.

   1. Improvements to movable-leaf registers comprising substantially in combination a lower element of the carcass, carrying the fixing pins of the leaflets, an upper element of the carcass and a bracket intended for the opening of the register, characterized by the fact that the parallel branches of the stirrup carry a wedging means of one or more cross members, resting on the lower element of the carcass, the latter being detached during the introduction to said stirrup, which therefore frees the sheets from the connecting pins and allows for easy removal and replacement of the register sheets.
