shoe tree improvements
The object of the present invention is (I bring improvements to shoe trees.
The first improvement consists in obtaining a rigorously linear extension work of the shoe tree inside the chaus on e.
Another improvement lies in the simplicity of the maneuver due to the utila.tion of a toothed sector automatically maintaining the tree in its extended position.
Finally, the invention provides other small improvements which will be better understood in the course of the following description and with reference to the appended drawing which shows: fig.l, an improved shoe tree according to the invention, in its working position; fig. 2, the folded shoe tree.
The shoe tree produced according to the invention comprises an end 1, made of wood, stamped metal or molded plastic material, in which recesses are made or formed. la and 1b.

D, ns the recess is 10 [; ee ltex.trén> ité of a lever i, flat iron, articulated on the end 1 by means of a pin 3.
The other end of the lever is provided with a pusher 4 of suitable shape to allow a.isee action on the lever.
Said lever, is articulated around an axis 5, a yoke 6 extended by an arm '7 articulating itself on the axis 8 of a second yoke 8a carried pa.r the heel 9 of the tree plant.
The screeds are preferably made of flat iron and the talon from one of the materials mentioned for the end 1.
In the yoke 6 can pass freely a toothed sector 10 articulated around an axis 11 fixed on the lever 2. The sector 10 is offset to be maintained in the axis of the yoke 6 and the axis 11 is located so that, by its own weight, the sector 10 hooks up with its teeth an axis 12 passing through the. yoke 6.
The end of the toothed sector 'located beyond the axis 11 protrudes from the lever 2 and is provided with a means 10a for placing a finger and pressing to release the teeth of the sector from the axis 10 .
It is easy to see how it works.
The end 1 is introduced, then the heel 9 into the shoe and the pusher is pressed until the tension is deemed sufficient. At this time, one of the teeth of sector 6 will remain hooked to the axis 12 and the tree will be. maintained in the extension position given to it.
This extension takes place along a linear axis perfectly parallel to the first sole of the shoe, thanks to the three joints 3, 5 and 8 and to the. camber of elements 6 and 7.
The deLente of the device is effected by pressing on the extension 10a of the toothed sector in order to disengage its teeth from the axis 12.
Another advantage of said shoe tree is that it allows its elements to be folded in order to reduce its bulk.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
This effect, the lever is brought back below the end 1 (fig.
2) in the recess conformed appropriately. The sector den 'té 10 also finds its housing in the recess 1b of corr espondan shape.
It is obvious that the shoe tree described above as a simple example could receive modifications of shape and detail without departing from the spirit of the invention.
