Pour dégonfler ou retirer la chambre à air,l'on re- tire la oorde 7, puis l'on introduit le passe-lacet dans le trou 8a du ballon et on le fait grimper au-dessus du talon 4 de la patte 2a de façon à dépasser la couture 12 correspon- dante;

CLOSING SYSTEM FOR FOOTBALL AND SIMILAR BALLS.
It has already been proposed to close the envelope of the balloon by a tab or membrane integral with the envelope and interposed between the latter and the air chamber,
The known devices of this kind have not given their satisfaction until now because of the fact that the closure does not maintain itself over time and above all because they cause a deformation of the balloon which presents at this point a relatively large flat.
In order to avoid these drawbacks, according to the present invention the opening formed in the casing is normally closed by two tabs crossing each other under it and presenting at a suitable point a heel stopping against a seam of the casing. envelope against which the tab is applied following the inflation of the air chamber. To remove these tabs with a view to inflating the balloon, as for inserting them into the envelope after inflation, holes are provided in the aforementioned heel to allow the passage of a rope or the like transmitting the traction exerted by a tool, which is introduced through a hole drilled in the casing when it comes to effecting the closure,

The drawing appended to this specification shows by way of example only one embodiment of the new balloon.
Fig.I is a view of the balloon inflated and closed.
Fig.2 is a view of the ball, one of the legs projecting outwardly.
Fig.3 is a partial view on a larger scale of Fig.2.
As shown in the drawing, at. each of the quarters Ia and Ib of the envelope of the balloon is sewn a tab 2a, 2b of for. me appropriate and of sufficient dimensions to close an opening 3 pierced in the intermediate quarter Ic, by applying one on the other.
Each tab 2a, 2b is surmounted by a heel 4 of leather or any other equivalent material, pierced with two holes 5 and 6, joined by a free double cord 7.
On the other hand each of the districts Ia and Ib of the env. loppe is pierced with a hole 8a, 8b.
Under these conditions, to close the envelope we do not. ser a cord 9, about fifty centimeters in length, in the hole 5 of the tab 2a, then the lace pass 10 is introduced into the hole 8a. until it comes out through opening 3 (Fig. 2) and then through the eyelet of the lace-up pass the two ends of the oorde 9, which is then completely removed through the hole 8a the lace-up 10 which drives the cord 9 and has it on it so as to make the tab 2a penetrate under the envelope until the latter is placed flat to close the 'opening 3 and that its heel 4 exceeds the seam II of the quarters la, lo, which acts as a stopper. Finally, the cord 9 is removed by pulling it by one of the ends,
We will act in the same way to introduce the tab 2b under it will wrap the inside of which is provided on the other hand a leather membrane which also serves as a pocket for the two re-entrant tabs 2a, 2b, the tab 2a applying on the tab 2b completely closes the opening 3 of the casing whose air chamber is thus

effectively protected,
To deflate or remove the air chamber, the oorde 7 is removed, then the lace pass is inserted into the hole 8a of the balloon and it is made to climb above the heel 4 of the tab 2a of so as to go beyond the corresponding seam 12;
the lace pass is then left in this position to combat the air pressure, and traction is exerted on the rope 7 through the opening of the balloon, the tab 2a can then be easily removed, and the 'we will act in the same way to remove the tab Zb,
This closure system can be applied to any type of balloon and can be provided in any position of the hallon, depending on the applications and the method of manufacture of the balloon.
