Brevet d'Invention APPAREIL SANITAIRE POUR ENFANTS ET MALADES.

Patent of Invention SANITARY APPLIANCE FOR CHILDREN AND SICK.
The present invention relates to a sanitary apparatus intended to receive the urine emitted by children or patients with the aim of maintaining the perfect cleanliness of the linen or bedding.
This apparatus consists essentially of two rubber pockets stuck together and fitting into the crotch of the child. The first, made of glued rubber bands and of thin thickness, is in communication with the air. ex-

and receives the urine directly, while the other, in the urine ¯ ¯à, ¯a, hard rubber and cast in one piece, serves to store ± J¯ 'and is provided with a valve for evacuation of compressed air.
The drawing appended to this specification shows, by way of example, but not limitation, an embodiment of the sanitary apparatus according to the invention, FIG. 1 is a sectional view of the apparatus.
Figs. 2 and 3 show the apparatus placed and seen respectively from the front and the rear.
As shown in the drawing, the apparatus consists of two rubber pockets glued together I and 3. The pocket I, following the fastening straps 3 to the body. of the child or

of the patient, is made of flexible rubber and its upper wall is of reinforced thickness and perforated in 4 to avoid, through communication with the outside, an overpressure in the compartment!, which would prevent the emission of the. urine. This perforation 4 is sufficiently reduced to prevent the passage of urine.
The pocket I is in relation with the pocket 2, cast from a piece of rigid rubber, by the nozzle 5, which can be reinforced at its origin by a chromed metal tube 6. This nozzle 5 which is made of rubber poured and pait integral part of the bag 2 will have its thickness very thin at the end to prevent the return of the liquid. The bag 2 is pierced at its upper part with a hole 7 covered by a perforated rubber band 8 serving limit the lifting of a very light metal ball 9 forming a valve. and resting on a seat constituted by a nozzle 10. On the other hand, a plug II is intended to close the compartment 2.
When the bag I receives the liquid, it inflates and the slightly compressed air escapes through the perforations 4.
Thanks to the very shape of the bag I, the liquid is present at the inlet of the nozzle or funnel 5 and by its weight partly flows into the bag 2. The remainder of the liquid precipitates there by suction. the result of the slightest movement of the wearer of the apparatus which causes the pocket 2 to compress; consequently the ball 9 rises and lets air escape through the perforations of the strip 8, then falls back; this is the case suction which sucks the liquid into the bag 2 which collects all the liquid, which is discharged through the orifice closed by the stopper II during cleaning of the apparatus.
The apparatus is fixed to the body by the rubber straps 3 to which are connected bands 12 of solid canvas which are wound around the body glue shown in Figs. 2 and 3, so as to prevent the complete overturning of the apparatus.
Of course, the apparatus could accommodate modifications of shape and material depending on the application.
