Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 8>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 9>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 10>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 11>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 12>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 13>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 14>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 15>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 16>

     Apres que le couvercle et le fond ont été insérés, la

 <Desc/Clms Page number 17>

   Machine for the continuous insertion of bottoms and lids into completely glued container shells, of paper, cardboard or the like.

   Self-functioning machines are known for the manufacture of paper containers, which in a combination of different operations manufacture the various parts and assemble them at the same time, while the bottom is stretched in the combined machine and at the same time intro - pressurized in the ferrule. In these machines, there is the drawback that when in any operation there is a disturbance, all the other processing devices must also be put out of action and the whole machine is put out of service, which considerably reduces the actual machine output positively combined.

   Installations are also known which are made up of different machines and which are partly connected together by means of transport, the bottoms and covers being specially drawn in a drawing press, then stacked in the machine. assembly and

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 automatically taken out of this heap.

   In this partially separate construction, as a result of the use of the stack for the supply of the drawn bottoms, the danger of disturbance existing in the first combined embodiment and which is particularly great during the drawing. cardboard bottoms of poor quality material is eliminated, on the other hand it has been observed that the automatic removal of the compressed bottoms in the conical shape of the stack also causes disturbances because the conical bottoms do not come together. evenly within each other during stacking. This is mainly due to the fact that the stretched cardboard bases have taken on an oval shape when the drawing punch is removed, and this longitudinally in the direction of the fibers of the roll cardboard. In addition, constant staff are required to fill the pile.

   These drawbacks are eliminated according to the present invention by means of the maohine for the continuous insertion of bottoms and lids in the ferrules of completely glued containers, of paper, cardboard or a similar material, by the fact that the bottoms and the covers are fed individually, directly, from the drawing press via feed channels, to the assembly machine.

   The drawing press operates with a somewhat higher speed than the assembly machine, as a result of which the bottoms and the lids produced in addition are stacked separately in the long feed channels, so that when par example a new roll of cardboard must be fed into the drawing press or there is a disturbance, the assembly machine can work unhindered with the winding machine

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 Note that in the rarest cases, since the stacking of the bottoms and lids one on top of the other disappears and therefore they cannot be hooked up.

  This is of great importance since the web of paper already glued in the ferrule winding machine would dry out during stoppage and result in a great waste loss.

   In addition, there is the danger that the ferrules passing through the dryer will dry too strongly and tear when inserting the bottoms and lids so that the containers lose their sealing.

   For the same reason, the dryer is provided with a heat regulator and a hygrometer so that the ferrules always have an appropriate degree of humidity when inserting the bottoms and lids.

   In the installation a sterilization device which is heated to approx. 100 is connected behind the assembly machine, in which the finished paper containers are sterilized and brought by a heated conveyor to the known filling machine. in herself.

    The heated air for sterilization is drawn in by a ventilator and sent to the drying apparatus in which the freshly wound ferrules are dried. The heated air coming from the sterilizer is also led through the inlet channels of the bottoms and the lids, which makes a rational use of heat.

   The machine for inserting the bottoms and covers into the hollow bodies is provided with different working places arranged one behind the other for the gluing of the hollow bodies, the supply of the bottoms of the covers, the insertion of these in the press, etc. The hollow bodies

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 are brought to and removed from the work places by a cross conveyor and lift device, one after the other at short intervals of time. From the machine, the finished containers are transported through the sterilizer and from the sterilizer to the filling machine. For each processing operation, only a two- or multi-piece tool is used to enclose or hold the hollow body.

   The retainers, at the point of gluing, are shortened on both sides so that the hollow body protrudes at least sufficiently so that when there is no hollow body brought in, the body retainer is not fouled by the glue applicator.

   Thanks to this realization of the machine and these arrangements of the workstations, we obtain the result that for each operation only one tool is needed, which reduces the price of the machine, while in the ma- China known for inserting heads, revolving, requires tools with six, eight pieces and more for individual operations, and these machines require a lot of time to replace tools when manufacturing different sizes of boxes .

   The drawing shows by way of example one embodiment of such a machine for the continuous insertion of bottoms and lids into completely glued container shells, of paper, cardboard or the like.

   The group of machines comprises the winding machine 72 with the drying apparatus 73, the bottom press 74, the cover press 75 and the assembly machine 76 which is connected to the sterilizer 77. The ferrules 7 in - Rolled on the machine 72, and which can be cylindrical or conical, are seohées in the dryer 73 connected to the machine 72, by means of hot air which is produced by electricity, gas or steam. From there the ferrules.7 are brought by a conveyor belt 79 into the heated collecting channel 80 from where the ferrules 7 are brought to the machine 76 for inserting the bottoms and lids.

  The bottoms 34 stamped by the machine 74 in a web of paper and pressurized into the desired shape, are transmitted automatically to the bucket conveyor 82 and transported by it upwards. The bucket conveyor 82 debits the funds 34 in a heated collecting channel 38 through which the funds are led in front of the punch 84 for inserting the machine 76 for inserting the lids and the bases and are inserted after a prior gluing in the ferrules 7. In machine 75, the lids with closing device are made. The cover press 75 is connected to a drive belt 85. The press-formed covers are transported.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 7>

 37.

   The channel 37 is connected to the machine 76 for inserting the lids and the bases and debits the lids 34 in front of the lids insertion punch 88 by means of which the lids are inserted, after prior gluing, into the ferrules 7.

   The machines 72, 76, 74 and 75 are interconnected and automatically cooperate in such a way that when the individual parts of the paper container have traveled their prescribed path, they are released by the group of machines into the fund insertion machine. and lid, in the form of a container ready for shipment.

   The channels 80, 37 and 38 arriving at the bottom and cover inserting machine are heated with hot air. The hot air is supplied to the sterilizer 77 at a temperature of about 100 through the pipe 88. The hot air leaving the sterilizer 77 is conducted through the pipe 89 by means of the fan in the heating apparatus 73 and the pipe 89. by the pipe 90 in the channels 37 and 38. The connection of the pipe 90 to the channels 37 and 38 can be done in any place.

   From the sterilizer 77, the finished containers 91 are led by the conveyor belt 92 to the filling machine.

   The machine comprises a frame 1 in which the axes necessary for the control are supported, the machine table 2 on which the lower halves 3 of the ferrule supports are adjustably fixed, the large frame! movable up and down to which are connected the upper halves 5 of the shell supports and the lifting and transport frame 6 guided transversely above the machine table for the hollow bodies 7 wound by means of paper, cardboard or

 <Desc / Clms Page number 8>

 of an analogous material. The frame 4 consists of guide rods 8, an upper connecting plate 9 and lower transverse connecting pieces 10 and 11. The rods 8 are guided vertically in the bearings 12 and 13 fixed to the frame 1 .

   The movement of the frame 4 is produced by means of the eccentrics 15 fixed on both sides of the axis 14 and which, during their rotation, raise and lower the frame 4 at fixed time intervals. When the frame 4 is lifted, the hollow bodies 7 are transported from the distance between two workstations by the lifting and transport frame 6, while when the frame! is lowered, the hollow bodies 7 are held by the supports 3 and 5. During the immobilization of the hollow bodies 7, the gluing is produced at the various work stations, the press insertion of the lids and bases, etc ..

   The upper halves 5 of the ferrule supports are connected by supports 16 to the upper plate 9 while the lower halves 5 of the ferrule supports are fixed by means of the supports 17 on the machine table 2 or on the frame 1. .

  The supports 16 and 17 are fixed in a movable manner so that they can be adjusted according to the size of the hollow bodies.

  The two-piece shell supports 3, 5 are fixed side by side at uniform distances and can be easily removed from the supports 16 and 17 and exchanged in the case of hollow bodies of other dimensions. There are usually as many shell supports 3, 5 in the machine as there are work stations. There may also be more ferrule supports 3, 5 in the machine than there are workstations. In this case, the ferrule supports which are not necessary are taken out of access.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 9>

 the table 2 is arranged between the lower supports 3 of the ferrules, fixed on the table 2, the lifting and transport frame 6 which is supported by its two ends of the slides 19 so as to move transversely (figs. 3 , 5, 7, 8,9 and 10).

   In the frame 6 there are provided transverse pivots 20, 20 or similar members which slide in the guides 19, 19. The guides 19,19 are fixed, in a movable manner in height, to the transverse pieces '10, 10 of the rods 8, 8, so that the frames 4 and 6 are raised and lowered simultaneously (fig. 5). At the end of the axis 14 extended on one side is fixed a cam drum 21 by which is set in motion an oscillating lever 22 which is connected by an articulated lever 23 to the frame 6 (figs. 5-8). .

   Under the action of the cam drum 21 and the lever 22, the frame 6 receives a reciprocating movement at time intervals. At the end of the movement, the transport frame 6 receives by the frame 4 at the same time also the upward and downward movement so that the frame 6 performs a movement in the direction of a rectangle. In the frame 6, recesses 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 are provided at uniform distances in which the hollow bodies 7 are placed during transport from a workstation to the machine. other. The spacings of the notches 24-29 correspond to those of the ferrule supports 3, 5.

   The. movement of the hollow bodies 9 occurs when the processing operations of the different stations have been carried out and the frame 4 has been lifted with the supports 5 (fig. 7). At the same time as the lifting of the frame 4 takes place, the transport frame 6 is also lifted by such an amount that the hollow bodies 7 are lifted out of the lower supports 3 after which

 <Desc / Clms Page number 10>

 the frame 6 is advanced with the hollow bodies 1 by a spacing 30 of the ferrule supports (fig. 5). At the end of this movement, the frame 4 lowers and with it the transport frame 6, as a result of which the hollow bodies 7 advanced from a workstation are deposited in the supports
5 located below.

   At the same time as the lowering of the frame 4, the supports 3, 5 are simultaneously closed and the hollow bodies are maintained for the next processing operation. After lowering the frame 6, the latter is returned to the initial position (fig. 6).

   In this position, the hollow bodies 7 are placed by hand or automatically, after the rearward movement of the frame 6, in the first recess 24 of the latter.

   During each forward movement of the frame 6, the hollow bodies 9 are advanced by an outgoing work station when the hollow body has passed through all the stations it is discharged finished in the last recess 290 of the frame. .

   There is shown in the drawing two methods of fixing the lids and the bases 31. According to FIGS. 12-15, the cover and the bottom are fixed to the hollow body 7 by insertion with the press and embossing and crimping in five separate operations. In the first operation, the hollow body? is provided internally by means of the enoolleur apparatus 32, with glue at the ends 33, at the location of the cover. In the second operation, the cover and the bottom 31 are inserted with the press (fig. 12). In the following operations, the edges 33 of the hollow body 7 are securely connected to the bottom by folding over one edge and embossing or crimping (figs. 13-15).

   For shaping the edge, a punch 29 can be used which has a groove in its underside.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 11>

 several radially rotatable pins 101 and pins 103 immobilizable by set screws 104. Pins 101 are provided with edge shaping grooves 102 which are appropriate to the shape of the flange. Pins 101 are supported in punch 99 such that shaping grooves 102 advance into groove 105 so that only grooves 102 perform shaping or rolling. When the protrusion of the groove 102 is worn, the spindle 101 is rotated enough so that an unworn part of the groove 102 advances into the groove 101 of the punch. When the entire groove is worn out, a new spindle 101 is put in place.

   The pins are preferably made of steel in order to have as long a life as possible. According to fig. 24, the two pins 101 of the horizontal or vertical arrangement can be made in one piece. The number of pins is adjusted according to the size of the punch.

   In the case of a suitable wall thickness, the groove 105 with the inner and outer guide wall can be omitted. In this case, the punch is thinner by the thickness of the .105 groove.

   Instead of the pins 101, other interchangeable parts can also be inserted into the groove 105 of the punch. It is possible, for example, to insert flat pieces 109 which have protruding shaping parts in the groove 105 (fig. 24).

   With the edge shaping punch, you can also simultaneously shape the cover flanges in the edges of the ferrule (fig. 26).

   According to figs. 16 and 17, the bottom and the cover 34 are provided with edges 35 which are drawn in a conical fashion. These

 <Desc / Clms Page number 12>

 lids and these bases 34 thus prepared in the press are inserted by means of a punch 36, of corresponding coneity, in the cylindrical hollow body 7. The shell supports 3, 5 are provided with heels 59 in the working positions where the cover and bottom are inserted, these heels ending on the outside with the ends of the hollow bodies 7. Internally the heels have cones 60 which correspond to those of the press punch 36 (figs. 16 and 17). As a result, the anterior cylindrical ends of the hollow body also receive, after the insertion of the cover and the conical bottom, a conical shape which is limited by the internal cone 60 of the heel 59.

   The heel 98 of the insertion punch 36 is spring loaded on one or both sides, so that in the event of uneven length of the ferrules the heel 98 may yield and the ferrule 7 is not. compressed. As a result of the cover and the base being inserted in a conical fashion under a high pressure into the previously cylindrical ends of the hollow body 7, a tension is produced such that it ensures an absolutely secure seal between the cover and the cylinder. bottom and wall of the container, which in the case of cylindrically drawn bottoms can only be achieved by complicated edge shaping. In addition, the container acquires, thanks to the conical ends, greater solidity and more stability.

   The application of the adhesive as well as the other operations are always carried out simultaneously on both sides of the hollow body. The completed lids and bottoms are routed through the channels 37 and 38 automatically past the press punch 36 which is interchangeably fixed in sliding parts 39. The sliding parts

 <Desc / Clms Page number 13>

 actuated by eccentrics 42. The cover and the bottom are inserted into the hollow body 7 by lowering the toggle levers 40 into the extended position (fig. 10). The gluing device 32 consists of an eccentric axis 43 which carries the glue wheel 44 at its front end. On the wheel 44 the glue is supplied from the container by the wheels 45,46.

   During the application of the adhesive on the lower ends of the hollow body 7, the eccentric pins 43 are introduced laterally into the ends of the hollow body 1 so as to come into contact with the walls, after which by rotation of the pins 43 , the caster rolls on the inner wall so that the ends are provided with glue.

   The coating device is more advantageously produced according to FIGS. 18 and 19. According to this embodiment, the glue roller 65 is made of porous rubber or a similar material on the outer cylindrical surface of which the glue is supplied from the glue container by rollers. The elastic gluing roller 65 is attached to the end of a sleeve 64 which is made elastic by longitudinal slots in the manner of a collet. The front end 63 is in the shape of a cone in which the rod 67 is pushed back with its conical head 66. By pushing the head 66 into the elastic sleeve 64, the radius of the front part and of the disc 65 is increased. Fig. 18 shows the gluing device inoperative.

   The gluing roller 65 is, in the rest state, a little smaller than the hollow body 7, which prevents the glue from being scraped off during the introduction of the gluing punch into the hollow body. When the hollow body 7 is to be coated with glue at its internal end, the sleeve 64 is inserted into the hollow body 7. As soon as this has occurred,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 14>

 the rod 67 with its head 66 is pushed back into the conical end of the sleeve 64.

   By the introduction of the conical head 66, the anterior part 63 of the sleeve 64 is widened so that the elastic roller 65 rests against the internal wall of the hollow body 7. Then the sleeve 64 is put in place. tation so that the inner end of the hollow body 7 is provided with glue. After gluing, the rod 67 is withdrawn, after which the sleeve 64 is returned to the initial position of FIG. 18.

   This operation is repeated each time the hollow body 7 is changed.

   The socket 64 and the front opening 63 are covered with a rubber cap so that the glue cannot get inside the socket. The hollow body is then brought to the insertion punches according to FIGS. 20 and 21 by means of which the bottoms and the covers pressed in the conical shape beforehand are inserted at the place of gluing, so that the ends of the hollow body 7 also take the co-shape. fuck outside.

   The bottom insertion punch 69 also consists of a sleeve 69 made elastic by longitudinal slots and the front end of which is provided with a conical opening 70. As soon as the cover 34 has been placed on the conical end anterior, the sleeve 69 is introduced into the end of the hollow body 7. By the advancement of the rod 71, the oonic anterior end 72 is pushed back into the opening 70 so that the cover or the bottom 34 is firmly inserted into the end of the hollow body. As soon as the insertion is complete, the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 15>

 and that the sleeve can easily be returned to the position of FIG. 20. Thanks to this press punch, it is possible to prevent the glue which has been applied to the internal surface of the ferrule from being forced inwards during insertion.

   The sleeve 64 of the gluing device and the sleeve 69 of the punch as well as the rods 68 and 71 are moved mechanically by the machine.

   The shell halves 3, 5 are shortened, at the places where the glue is applied, on both sides so that the hollow body freely protrudes from these sides so that, when a hollow body is not introduced , the ferrule supports cannot be soiled by the roller 44 for applying the adhesive.

   The machine is controlled from the belt pulley 47, on the axle 48 of which is fixed a toothed wheel 49 which is in mesh with a toothed wheel 51 fixed on the axle 50. The axis 50 is mounted another toothed wheel 52 which actuates the axis 14 by the toothed wheel 53.

  By the toothed wheel 52, the axis 54 is actuated by means of the toothed wheel 55 and from this axis the toggle levers 40 located on one side are actuated while by the toothed wheel 53, with the wheel being inserted. tooth 56, toothed wheel 57 mounted on axle 58 is rotated and toggle levers 40 on the other side are actuated.

   The operation of the machine is as follows:
It will be assumed that the bottoms and the lids are inserted according to figs. 16 and 17. After the tools have been set up for the dimensions of the hollow bodies 7 and adjusted appropriately and in the first recess 24 of the transport frame 6 a hollow body 7 has been placed, the machine is switched on, so that the frame 4 is lifted together with the transport frame 6.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 16>

  By lifting the frame 4, the shell supports 5 are separated from the fixed supports 3 and open. At the last moment of the lifting of the frames 4 and 6, the latter is advanced by a spacing 30 of the supports. As soon as the frame 6 has made its movement, this frame is lowered with the - frame 4 - in the forward position. During the descent of the frame 6, the hollow body 7 is placed in the first lower support 3 of the ferrules. When the frames 4, 6 have been moved downwards, the body 7 is clamped by the supports 3, 5, the gluing devices 32 come into action from both sides and the rollers 44 apply the glue to the lower ends of the bodies 7.

   At the same time as the gluing devices 32, the press punches 36 are moved towards the bodies 7 by the toggle levers 40.

  After a body 7 has been moved forward, the punches 36 are still running empty. During the action of the gluing devices 32 and the punches 36, the frame 6 is brought back to the lowered position by the lever 22. During the retraction of the frame 6, the operations of the gluing devices 32 take place. As soon as the frame 6 is brought back, the second hollow body 7 is placed in the recess 24 and the operation is repeated with the second hollow body 7. During this operation, the first hollow body 7 is moved by the frame 6 from a working position towards the press punches 36.

   During the third working phase, the first hollow body 7 is transported to the next working place and so on until the first hollow body has passed through all the stations and is removed from the last recess. 29.

     After the cover and bottom have been inserted, the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 17>

The number of working positions in the machine can be any.

   So that the lids and the bases cannot reach the channels 38 and 37 in front of the press punches when there is no hollow body on the frame 6, drawers 96 are provided which close the ends of the channels 37 and 38. The drawers 96 are influenced by the feeler pins 93, the ends of which rest on the horizontal arms 94 of the angled levers 95. The upper ends of the angled levers 95 are connected to the drawers 96.

  The arms 94 of the angled levers 95 are continuously pressed by the springs 95 against the lower ends of the feeler pins.

   The feeling pins 93 are guided vertically in bars or equivalent parts. The upper ends of the feeler pins are applied against the hollow bodies 7. When there is no hollow body between the supports of the ferrules 3, 5, the feeler pins move upwards under the influence of the springs. 97 so that the channels 37, 38 are closed by the drawers 96 (Fig. 4a).

<Desc / Clms Page number 20> h) when lifting the lifting and transport frame, the container collars are lifted from the fixed lower parts of the supports, are transported by the subsequent horizontal movement of the lifting and transport frame to the next work station and are deposited, during the descent of the lifting and transport frame, in the lower parts of supports located below, in which the container shells are held by the simultaneous lowering of the frame with the parts. upper supports. i) dans le châssis de levée et de transport, on a prévu à des distances uniformes, qui correspondent à celles des paires de supports, des évidements dans lesquels les viroles de récipients se posent lors du soulèvement hots des pièces inférieures de supports fixes et lors du déplacement d'une station de travail à l'autre, pour que les viroles de ré- cipients ne puissent pas changer d'espacement. j) les stations de traitement, comme le dispositif d'encollage et de compression ou le dispositif de façonnage du bord, sont disposés séparément des deux cotas des paires de supports de sorte que l'encollage et l'insertion des fonds et des couvercles dans la virole de récipient ou le façonnage des rebords peuvent se faire des deux côtes si- multanément ou seulement d'un côté. i) in the lifting and transport frame, there are provided at uniform distances, which correspond to those of the pairs of supports, recesses in which the receptacle shells are posed during the hots lifting of the lower parts of fixed supports and during moving from one workstation to another, so that the vessel shells cannot change spacing. j) the processing stations, such as the gluing and compression device or the edge shaping device, are arranged separately from the two sides of the pairs of supports so that the gluing and the insertion of the bottoms and the lids in the container shell or the shaping of the flanges can be done on both sides simultaneously or only on one side. k) les talons de la paire de supports sont plus courts à l'endroit du dispositif d'encollage, en comparaison des autres supports, de sorte que la virole de récipient dépas- se librement des deux côtés d'une quantité telle que lors- qu'aucune virole n'est amenée les supports ne peuvent être salis par l'apport de colle. k) the heels of the pair of supports are shorter at the location of the sizing device, compared to the other supports, so that the container shell freely protrudes on both sides by an amount such as when that no ferrule is brought in, the supports cannot be soiled by the addition of glue. 1) the heels of the insertion punches are arranged <Desc / Clms Page number 21> m) the glue roller made of a known elastic mass is smaller in diameter than the internal diameter of the shell to be coated, the glue roller being fixed to a hollow sleeve made elastic by longitudinal slots and which has a conical opening in which, after the introduction of the glue roller into the container shell, a punch provided with a conical head is driven back so that the upper diameter of the sleeve and with it the roller of gluing are increased, which prevents scraping of the glue during the introduction of the gluing punch. , n) the elastic sleeve and its opening are closed by an oaoutchouo hat to prevent the glue from flowing inside the sleeve. o) le poinçon de compression est creux et est établi élastiquement à l'endroit de la partie de oompression, moyennant des fentes longitudinales, tandis que dans la par- tie antérieure, on a prévu un cône dans lequel après l'in- troduction du poinçon dans le corps creux une tige connue Bn elle-même, pourvue d'une tête oonique, est enfoncée, en suite de quoi la partie de compression du poinçon devient plus grande de diamètre et insère ainsi le fond et le cou- vercle dans le corps creux en les dilatant. p) le poinçon possède pour le façonnage des bords des viroles, dans la partie inférieure, une ou plusieurs pièces de façonnage de bord, disposées radialement et de façon interchangeable. o) the compression punch is hollow and is established elastically at the location of the compression part, by means of longitudinal slits, while in the anterior part a cone is provided in which after the introduction of the punch in the hollow body a known rod Bn itself, provided with an oonic head, is driven, as a result of which the compression part of the punch becomes larger in diameter and thus inserts the bottom and the cover into the hollow body by expanding them. p) the punch has for shaping the edges of the ferrules, in the lower part, one or more edge shaping parts, arranged radially and interchangeably. q) la broche est montée de façon à pouvoir tourner et être immobilisée et est pourvue d'une rainure de façonnage de bord qui s'avance dans la rainure de guidage annulaire du poinçon, la rainure de guidage pouvant également être supprimée de telle façon que les rainures de façonnage de bord ressortent en-dessous du poinçon. <Desc/Clms Page number 22> r) la broche est immobilisée au moyen d'une vis de. pression ou d'une pièce analogue et après l'usure de la partie de la rainure de façonnage s'avançant dans la rainure de guidage, la broche est tournée partiellement et de nouveau .immobilisée. s) dans le poinçon sont fixées de façon interchangea- ble des pièces plates qui possèdent des pièces de façonnage de bord s'avançant dans la. rainure de guidage. q) the spindle is mounted so that it can be rotated and immobilized and is provided with an edge shaping groove which projects into the annular guide groove of the punch, the guide groove can also be omitted such that the edge shaping grooves protrude below the punch. <Desc / Clms Page number 22> r) the spindle is immobilized by means of a screw of. pressure or the like and after the part of the shaping groove protruding into the guide groove wears out, the spindle is partially rotated and again immobilized. s) in the punch are interchangeably fixed flat pieces which have edge shapers protruding into the. guide groove. t) les canaux sont fermés par des tiroirs ou des or- ganes analogues lorsqu'une virole de récipient n'est pas amenée au dispositif de compression, tandis qu'à l'endroit d'encollage qui précède on a disposé des organes tâteurs dont le mouvement est transmis par des leviers aux'tiroirs ce qui produit la fermeture des canaux pour les empêcher de s'ouvrir. t) the channels are closed by drawers or similar organs when a receptacle shell is not brought to the compression device, while at the preceding gluing place, feelers have been placed, of which the movement is transmitted by levers to the drawers which produces the closure of the channels to prevent them from opening.
