<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
La lamelle 70 est reliée par le fil 60 au conclueteur 14 ; la lamelle 71 est reliée par un fil 74 à l'une des bornes d'un avertisseur sonore 75 par exemple dont l'autre borne est connectée au conducteur 13;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

Fire, theft and the like alarm device
The present invention relates to a fire alarm device, theft and the like capable of being used with any type of contact devices arranged in places which are to be protected against fire or theft. It is very important to prevent the apparatus from operating under the influence of accidental and instantaneous tremors or vibrations which cause the contacts to open for a relatively short time.
The apparatus according to the invention meets this oondition and is remarkable, in particular, in that it comprises a first relay connected to the contacts disposed in the room or the like which is to be protected, and acts by means of a system. delayed on a switch inserted in the circuit of a second
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
relay, the latter relay closing the power supply circuit of a sound, light or similar device.
According to another characteristic, the apparatus comprises a contact device controlling the delay system and in turn controlled by the first relay both for starting and stopping this delay system.
It follows that if, as a result of an accidental trepidation, the fire contact were to momentarily open, the first relay will start the delay system but the duration of the interruption of the current in this relay will be too short to open the switch controlling the buzzer or the like.
In the accompanying drawing, given only by way of example, there is shown the diagram of a warning device in accordance with the invention connected to contacts of the type described in the applicant's previous patents.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown, the apparatus comprises a frame 1 on which are mounted all the main members / In 2 there is shown a clamp whose terminals 3 and 4 are connected to the network by wires 5, while terminals 6 and 7 are connected to terminals 8 and 9 of a boot 10 containing a small transformer as well as a current rectifier if necessary. The transformed current is collected at terminals 11 and 12. These latter terminals are connected by wires 13 ′ and 14 to terminals 15 and 16 of an accumulator 17 for example. On wires 13 and 14 is, moreover, connected a voltmeter 18.
Theft contacts and fire detectors can be of any type. The applicant figured
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
schematically at 19 and 20 of the contacts described by itself in earlier patents. The flight contacts 19 are placed in series and are powered by four conductors 21, 22, 23, 24 connected to terminals 25 and 26 of a wire clamp 27 and to terminals 28 and 29 of another wire clamp 30 De morne the fire detectors 20 are arranged in series and connected by wires 31, 32, 33 and 34 to terminals 35 and 36 of a wire clamp 37 and to terminals 38 and 39 of a second wire clamp. 40.
Below these wire clamps are arranged two electromagnets 41 and 42 acting on pallets 43 and 44.
Terminal 45 of electromagnet 41 is connected to power conductor 14, while terminal 46 is connected to terminal 48 of wire clamp 37.
The electromagnet 41 acts on the pallet 43 articulated at 49 and integral with fingers 50 and 51. These fingers open and close contacts 52 and 53 provided on the pallets.
54,55, 56 and 57.
The pallet 54 is connected by a wire 58 to one of the terminals of a light signal 59 for example, the other terminal of which is connected to the supply wire 13. The slats
55 and 56 are connected by a wire 60 to the supply conductor 14.
The terminal 61 of the electromagnet 42 is connected by a wire 62 with the terminal 63 of the clamp 30, while the other terminal 64 of the electromagnet is connected by a wire 65 with the terminal 66 of the wire clamp 27. The electromagnet
42 acts on the oontaoteur 44 articulated at 67 and provided with two fingers 68 and 69 acting on slats 70, 71, 72
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The strip 70 is connected by the wire 60 to the concleteur 14; the strip 71 is connected by a wire 74 to one of the terminals of an audible warning device 75, for example, the other terminal of which is connected to the conductor 13;
the strip 72 is connected to the strip 57; finally, the strip 73 is connected by a conductor 76 to one of the terminals of the excitation winding 77 of a motor 78, the other terminal of this winding being connected to the conductor 13 by a wire 79. On l The armature 80 of the motor is fitted with a contact whose opening is controlled by centrifugal force.
It comprises for example two conductive rings 81 and 82 on which the brushes 83 and 84 rub. These two rings can be connected by a blade 85 provided with a weight 86 '. When the armature is at rest the current passes from one ring to the other, but if the armature rotates at a speed exceeding a certain maximum, the blade 85 moves away and cuts the current. The brushes 83 and 84 are respectively connected by wires 86 and 79 to the terminal 87 of the clamp 30 and to the supply conductor 13.
Finally, terminal 88 of clamp 27 is connected to conductor 14, terminal 89 of clamp 37 is connected to terminal 90 of clamp 40, and terminal 91 of clamp 40 to conductor 13.
The operation of the device is as follows: 1 Normally, the current supplies the device via wires 13 and 14. There is a first circuit comprising wire 14, terminal 45, electromagnet 41, terminal 46, terminals 48 and 35 of clamp 37, detectors 20 terminals 38 and 90 of clamp 40, terminals 86 and 36 of clamp 37, detectors 20, terminals 39 and 91 of clamp wire 40, and the supply conductor 13. It can therefore be seen that the electromagnet 41 is constantly energized and that it attracts the pallet 43, which in this position maintains the contacts
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
52 and 53 open.
Likewise the circuit of the electromagnet 42 is normally closed and consists of: the supply wire 14, the terminals 88 and 25, the contacts 19, the terminals 28 and 63, the conductor 62, the terminal 61 of the 'electromagnet 42, the winding of this electromagnet and its terminal 64, the conductor 65, the terminals 66 and 26, the. contacts 19, terminals 29 and 87, conductor 86, central contact 81,82 fuge conductor 79 and wire. power supply 13
The paddle 44 is therefore also constantly attracted by the electromagnet 42, maintains the contact 52 'open but closes the contact 53'.
When it is desired to put the apparatus into service o moves the rod or lever 92 by hand, the role of which will be explained later, and it is brought into the position shown in dotted lines. in 92 '.
The devolving contacts 19 being placed on doors, windows, etc ... if a criminal opens such a door, window, etc ... or if he cuts or short-circuits wires 21, 22, 23 or 24, the circuit supplying electromagnet 42 suddenly opens and pallet 44 falls by opening contact 53 'and closing contact 52'. This results in the immediate switching on of the audible warning signal 75 supplied by the circuit passing through the conductors 13, the contact 52 'and the wires 60 and 14.'
The flexibility of the blade 55 must be chosen such that the movements of the pallet 43 taking place under the action of the electromagnet 41 can control the opening and closing of the contact 52.
On the other hand, the flexibility of the blade 71 must be such that it can prevent the pallet 44 from coming back in.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
contact with the electromagnet 42 once this pallet has been detached from this electromagnet. This is important because a thief will no longer be able to stop the operation of the alarm, for example by closing the door, the opening of which triggered the alarm. The lever 92 is used precisely to bring the pallet 44 into contact with the electromagnet against the action of the blade 71 when it is desired to stop the alarm.
The fire detectors, which can be of any type, are also wired in series. It is in particular possible to use those of the bimetallic strip type constituted by two contiguous strips with different expansion coefficients. When the temperature of the rooms in which these detectors are placed exceeds a certain maximum, they deform and open the circuit.
Normally the circuit is closed as indicated above. When one of the detectors has operated, the circuit is cut and the paddle 43 switches down, closing the contacts 52 and 53 and thus establishing two circuits. One of these circuits passes through the power wire 13, the wire 79, the winding 77 of the motor 78, the wire 76, the contacts 53 'and 53, the wire 60 and the power wire 14. This circuit puts running the engine 78.
The second circuit comprises wire 13, optical signal 59, wire 58, contact 52 and wires 60 and 14, and activates the light signal.
When the bimetal detector has interrupted the current due to an accidental trepidation, and if it returns to its original position after a relatively short time, the pallet 43 which had fallen is again
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
attracted by the electromagnet 41 and opens the circuits of the signal 59 and of the motor 78. If, on the other hand, the opening of the circuit operated by the detector is lasting, and thus comes from another cause than an accidental trepidation. lace, the motor accelerates and reaches the maximum speed at which the centrifugal contact 85 opens thanks to the inertia of the weight 86 '. At this moment the current supplying the electromagnet 42 is cut and the paddle 44 falls by activating the horn 75 and by cutting the motor circuit at 53 '.
It can therefore be seen that, thanks to the motor 78, current interruptions and false indications produced by accidental vibrations acting on the detector 20 are avoided.
To switch off the flight contacts 19 alone, a two-pole switch 93 has been provided which can cut off terminals 88, 63 and 66, 87.
Of course, without departing from the scope of the present invention, it would be possible to use other detectors or theft contacts than those indicated above. Likewise, signals can be provided, of known types or not, making it possible to determine the number of the detector or tale that has operated, and to use the desired number of electromagnets, signals, detectors, etc.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment shown and described which was chosen only by way of example.
