La. présente invention se rapporte à un perfectionnement aux tondeuses à gazon. 



   Le but de l'invention est de créer un dispositif appliqué aux tondeusesà gaz on pour assembler leshautesherbes et les mauvaises   '±le.-bas   et les maintenir dans une position telle que leslames coupantes puissent couper ces mauvaises herbes et ces herbes longues par leur fonctionnement habituel. En même temps, ce dispositif est agencé pour empêcher un entremêlement des mauvaisesherbes de sorte que, quand celles-cisont coupées, elles tombent en dehors de la machine avec les autres herbes. 



   Un exemple de réalisation est représenté au dessin annexé, dans   lequel :     fig.l   est une vue en perspective d'une tondeuse à gazon conforme à l'invention,   fig.2   est une vue en perspective donnant le détail d'un des rateaux

   La tondeuse de gazon peut être de construction usuelle, comportant les roues 1 qui entraînent l'arbre 2 des couteaux ou lamesde la manière habituelle, sur l'arbre2 sont montées, à intervalles déterminés, des pattes   d'araignée 3   dont les bras portent les lames coupantes habituelles 4. 



   Sur desbras intermédiairesdes pattes3, et entre les lames coupantes 4, sont montés des rateaux 5 fixés à ces bras et légèrement tordus pour se trouver en parallèle avec les lames coupantes4 ou s'étendre en spirale par rapport à l'arbre 2, la courbure de ces  râteaux   correspondant donc à celle deslames coupantes. comme le montrent les   fig.2   et 3, les rateaux   b   sont pourvus, à un bord, d'une série de dents 6 de rateau formant partie intégrale de celui-ci ; les bords 7 et 8 de ces dents convergent vers un même point à leurs extrémités le plus externes (fig.2 spécialement).

   Le bord 8 est découpé en 9 à une distance   à.   peu près en   alignement:   vertical avec la pointe de la dent, pour former crochet 11, et la partie découpée est rabattue à peu près de 90  pour constituer flasque ou garde 10. La. partie découpée 9 forme crochet 11 sur un seul bord de chacune des dents, ce crochet recouvrant une partie du bord 7 de la dent suivante. Le bord externe 12 de la garde 10 est obl ique ou incliné pour former une projection à peu près triangulaire sur un bord de chaque dent. Le but de ces gardesest d'empêcher que les mauvaises herbes et les herbes longues ne s'entrelacent autour des dents du râteau. 



   Dans la forme modifiée desfig.4 et 5, lesdentsdu   rateau   sont semblables à celles des figures 2 et 3, mais au lieu d'avoir les gardes 10 qui empêchent l'entrelacement des mauvaises herbes, les bords externes des dents 6' du râteau sont placés suivant un

 certain angle par rapport au rateau, c'est-à-dire que les extrémités externes des crochets sont décalées   angulairement   par rapport au corps du rateau, ou, en d'autres termes, qu'elles sont hors d'alignement avec la base des dents, comme il est représenté par les parties ombrées de la fig.4, et bien visible à la fig.5. On a trouvé que par cette modification, les mauvaises herbesne peuvent non pluss'entrelacer dans le rateau. 



   Comme le montre la   fig.l,   les dents des râteaux successifs sont, d'un râteau au suivant, dirigéesvers desdirections opposées, de façon à saisir toutes les mauvaises herbes. Si toutes les dents étaient pointées dans la même direction, une certaine quantité de mauvaises herbes ne serait pas attaquée ni coupée. 



   Quand la machine fonctionne, les lames tranchantes coupent de la manière usuelle et les rateaux saisissent et accrochent leshautesherbes et lesmauvaises herbes, lescourbant dans une position pour laquelle elles sont prises entre la lame stationnaire et les lames rotatives et sont ainsi coupées de la manière habituelle. La relation angulaire prévue entre lesextrémités externes des dents, et la direction opposée des pointes des dents des rateaux successifs ont pour effet que les dents attaquent toutes les mauvaises herbes dont éventuellement un très petit nombre seulement échappent à l'action de coupe. 



   En même temps, les mauvaises herbes sont empêchées de s'emmêler sur les dents des rateaux, soit grâce aux gardes 10, soit grâce à la disposition angulaire desdents pour la forme représentée aux fig.4 et 5, dans laquelle les crochets sont disposés en spirale hors d'alignement avec le corps des dents.

   The lawn mower may be of conventional construction, comprising the wheels 1 which drive the shaft 2 of the knives or blades in the usual manner, on the shaft 2 are mounted, at determined intervals, spider legs 3 whose arms carry the usual cutting blades 4.

The outer edge 12 of guard 10 is oblique or inclined to form a roughly triangular projection on one edge of each tooth. The purpose of these guards is to prevent weeds and long grass from entwining around the rake teeth.



   In the modified form of Figs. 4 and 5, the teeth of the rake are similar to those of Figs. 2 and 3, but instead of having the guards 10 which prevent the intertwining of weeds, the outer edges of the teeth 6 'of the rake are placed following a

 certain angle with respect to the rake, i.e. the outer ends of the hooks are angularly offset from the body of the rake, or, in other words, they are out of alignment with the base of the teeth, as shown by the shaded parts in fig. 4, and clearly visible in fig. 5. It has been found that by this modification, weeds cannot intertwine in the rake either.



   As shown in fig.l, the teeth of successive rakes are, from one rake to the next, directed towards opposite directions, so as to catch all the weeds. If all the tines were pointed in the same direction, a certain amount of weeds would not be attacked or cut.



   When the machine is in operation, the sharp blades cut in the usual way and the rakes grab and hook the high grasses and weeds, bending them into a position in which they are caught between the stationary blade and the rotating blades and are thus cut in the usual way. The angular relationship provided between the outer ends of the teeth, and the opposite direction of the tips of the teeth of the successive rakes have the effect that the teeth attack all the weeds, of which possibly only a very small number escape the cutting action.



   At the same time, weeds are prevented from getting tangled on the teeth of the rakes, either thanks to the guards 10, or thanks to the angular arrangement of the teeth for the shape shown in figs. 4 and 5, in which the hooks are arranged in spiral out of alignment with the body of the teeth.
