PERFECTIONNEMENTS AUX ARTICLES, COMPORTANT UN MECANIS- ME INTERNE ET DES MOYENS DE MANOEUVRE A ACTIONNER DE L'EXTERIEUR, TELS LES MOULINS A CAFE ET SEMBLABLES.
L'invention est relative aux articles, comportant un mécanisme interne et des moyens de manoeuvre à actionner de l'extérieur, et concerne en particulier, mais non exclusivement, les moulins à café ét les articles du même genre.
Elle a pour but surtout d'établir ces articles de façon telle qu'ils soient plus pratiques et puissent être rendus propres à d'autres usages que ceux auxquels ils sont principalement destinés, et de meilleure présentation.
Elle consiste à cet effet à les organiser, d'une part en ce qui concerne le montage du mécanisme dont ils sont équipés et d'autre part en ce qui concerne les moyens de manoeuvre de ce mécanisme, de façon telle que ce mécanisme puisse être rendu complètement invisible, en même temps que les moyens de manoeuvre sont facilement amovibles et peuvent être dissimulés en période d' inutilisation.
Elle consiste également, de préférence, à faire comprendre aux dits articles, indépendamment du dit mécanisme, d'autres

instruments utiles, notamment durant les périodes d'inutilisa- tiono
Et afin que l'on puisse bien comprendre comment-les dispositions caractéristiques ci-dessus peuvent être pratiquement réalisées, elles séront décrites plus en détail ci-après dans l'application de l'invention aux moulins à café, et en se réfé- rant au dessin annexé qui représente, à titre d'exemple, deux modes préférés d'exécution, et dans lequel :
Figs. i et 2 montrent en perspective un moulin suivant l'invention, tel qu'il se présente respectivement en périodes d'utilisation et d'inutilisation; .Fig .3 .- montre:- de même, une autre disposition.
En se référant à la figure 1, qui montre le moulin vu de l'avant, le mécanisme dont il est équipé est illustré d'une manière tout à fait schématique et désigné dans l'ensemble par 1.
Il est agencé dans une enveloppe 2, qui est illustrée de conforma,- tion quadrangulaire mais qui pourrait bien entendu recevoir toute autre conformation, de telle façon que l'extrémité 3 de l'axe de la meule ou fraise usuelle ne forme pas,ou seulement une très fai- ble saillie sur la face supérieure 4 de l'enveloppe.
Le mécanisme 1 est disposé et l'ouverture d'introduc- tion des grains, 4; est formée, soit centralement, soit plus ou moins excentrés.
L'extrémité 3 est conformée en carré, ou semblable, et sur cette extrémité vient s'adapter, par une portion carrée cor- respondante, la manivelle de manoeuvre, l'engagement pouvant être assuré par des moyens appropriés, mais aisément amovibles, une comme par exemple agrafe-ressort.
Dans l'enveloppe 1 on forme en outre une ouverture à glissière 8, propre à recevoir le tiroir 9 dans lequel sera récol- té le café broyé, et une seconde ouverture à glissière 10, équipée d'un tiroir 11, tel et de dimensions telles que la manivelle puisse y être dissimulée.

un autre logement approprié pour la manivelle, tel celui indiqué par le tracé interrompu 12, ménagé dans le côté de l'enveloppe 2.
En période d'inutilisation, la manivelle est dégagée de l'extrémité 3 et dissimulée dans son logement 11 ou 12, tandis que, sur la face supérieure de l'enveloppe 2 vient s'appliquer un couvercle 13, monté à charnières, emboité ou autrement agencé et muni, au besoin, d'un motif ornemental.
On remarquera que dès lors, le moulin présentera un aspect tout différent de celui sous lequel apparait un moulin-ordinaire, notamment d'un petit meuble ou bibelot, de beaucoup plus élégant, que l'on pourra utiliser dans un but de décoration.
Et ou bien on se contente de procéder ainsi qu'il est dit, ou bien et mieux, on fait comprendre au dit moulin quelqu' autre instrument utile, comme une pendulette, thermomètre, baromètre, ou semblable, qui avantageusement sera agencé, par exemple,sur le panneau postérieur de l'enveloppe 2 (figure 1), le moulin se présentant alors comme illustré par la figure 2, la pendulette 14 occupant le centre ou tout autre emplacement du panneau.
Dans la..: figure,. 3 .. la disposition est d'un principe analogue, mais le mécanisme de broyage est disposé verticalement, la manivelle de manoeuvre. 6, s'adaptant sur l'extrémité 3 de l'axe qui apparait lorsqu'on ouvre le panneau mobile ou amovible, 15, découvrant en même temps un emplacement 16 pour la manivelle 6.
Comme'dans le cas des figures 1 et 2, on pourra agrémenter le moulin d'un instrument utile quelconque, du genre indiqué.
Et l'on obtient ainsi un article plus pratique et de meilleure présentation que ceux jusqu'à présent proposés.
Bien entendu l'invention n'est pas limitée aux dispositions plus spécialement décrites et représentées, mais elle comprend également les variantes et les modifications, de même qu' elle s'applique aux articles autres que les moulins à café.

IMPROVEMENTS IN ARTICLES, INCLUDING AN INTERNAL MECHANISM AND MEANS OF OPERATION TO BE ACTUATED FROM THE EXTERIOR, SUCH AS COFFEE MILLS AND SIMILAR.
The invention relates to articles comprising an internal mechanism and operating means to be actuated from the outside, and relates in particular, but not exclusively, to coffee grinders and articles of the same type.
Its main purpose is to establish these articles in such a way that they are more practical and can be made suitable for uses other than those for which they are mainly intended, and of better presentation.
It consists for this purpose in organizing them, on the one hand with regard to the assembly of the mechanism with which they are equipped and on the other hand with regard to the means of maneuvering this mechanism, in such a way that this mechanism can be made completely invisible, at the same time that the operating means are easily removable and can be concealed when not in use.
It also preferably consists of making said articles understand, independently of said mechanism, other

useful instruments, especially during periods of non-use
And so that one can clearly understand how the above characteristic arrangements can be practically realized, they will be described in more detail below in the application of the invention to coffee grinders, and with reference to in the accompanying drawing which represents, by way of example, two preferred embodiments, and in which:
Figs. i and 2 show in perspective a mill according to the invention, as it appears respectively in periods of use and of non-use; .Fig .3 .- shows: - likewise, another arrangement.
Referring to figure 1, which shows the mill seen from the front, the mechanism with which it is equipped is illustrated in a quite schematic manner and generally designated by 1.
It is arranged in an envelope 2, which is illustrated in a quadrangular shape, but which could of course receive any other shape, such that the end 3 of the axis of the usual grinding wheel or cutter does not form, or only a very slight protrusion on the upper face 4 of the casing.
The mechanism 1 is placed and the grain introduction opening 4; is formed, either centrally or more or less eccentric.
The end 3 is shaped into a square, or the like, and on this end is adapted, by a corresponding square portion, the operating crank, the engagement being able to be ensured by suitable means, but easily removable, a as for example clip-spring.
In the envelope 1, a sliding opening 8 is also formed, suitable for receiving the drawer 9 in which the ground coffee will be collected, and a second sliding opening 10, equipped with a drawer 11, such and of dimensions such that the crank can be hidden there.
Of course, instead of the drawer, we could provide

another suitable housing for the crank, such as that indicated by the broken line 12, provided in the side of the casing 2.
When not in use, the crank is released from the end 3 and hidden in its housing 11 or 12, while, on the upper face of the casing 2 is applied a cover 13, mounted on hinges, nested or otherwise arranged and provided, if necessary, with an ornamental motif.
It will be noted that from then on, the mill will present an entirely different appearance from that under which an ordinary mill appears, in particular a small piece of furniture or trinket, much more elegant, which can be used for decorative purposes.
And either we are satisfied to proceed as it is said, or better and better, we make the said mill understand some other useful instrument, such as a clock, thermometer, barometer, or similar, which will advantageously be arranged, for example , on the rear panel of the envelope 2 (Figure 1), the mill then appearing as illustrated in Figure 2, the clock 14 occupying the center or any other location of the panel.
In the ..: figure ,. 3 .. the arrangement is of a similar principle, but the grinding mechanism is arranged vertically, the operating crank. 6, adapting to the end 3 of the axis which appears when the movable or removable panel is opened, 15, at the same time discovering a location 16 for the crank 6.
As in the case of Figures 1 and 2, we can decorate the mill with any useful instrument of the type indicated.
And thus we obtain an article more practical and of better presentation than those so far proposed.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the arrangements more especially described and shown, but it also includes variants and modifications, just as it applies to articles other than coffee grinders.
