Brevet d'Invention DISTRIBUTEUR AUTOMATIQUE DE CIGARES.A PREPAIEMENT.
Fig.3 est une coupe par A-B de Fig.I.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Patent of Invention AUTOMATIC CIGAR DISTRIBUTOR.A PREPAYMENT.
The object of the invention is a prepaid automatic dispenser especially applicable to the sale of cigars and the like.
This distributor differs from devices of the same known type, by the safety of its operation and the security that it presents from the point of view of usual fraud.
The drawing shows a dispenser according to the invention.
In this drawing:
Fig.I is an elevational view of the dispenser, the front cover removed, the components in the rest position.
Fig.2 is a similar view, the organs in the extreme position.
Fig.3 is a section through A-B of Fig.I.
Fig.4 is an enlarged view of the dispenser from the rear showing the bottom cover.
The dispenser essentially comprises a drum I mounted on a central axis 2 and provided on the outside with a certain number of fins 3 limiting the compartments in which a cigar or the object to be dispensed is placed. The drum I is surrounded by a tube glass 4, in which a window has been provided
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
longitudinal 5 of sufficient length to allow the lateral exit of a cigar, for example.
The central axis 2 is carried by a casing 6 fixed to a base 8. The glass tube 4 fits at its ends respectively into the casing 6 and into the rear frame 7 where the cover 7a is embedded. the casing 6 are fixed on the axis 2 two wheels 9a, 9b provided with a number of teeth equal to the number of oases of the drum I. These teeth are presented in the opposite direction to each other for the two wheels.
Between the two wheels 9a, 9b, can pivot freely on the axis 2 a rectangular part or crosspiece 10, subjected to the action of a spring II. On this part 10 are pivoted two roohets I2a, I2b, returned by springs respective I3a, I3b, and one of which, I2a, engages in the teeth of the wheel 9a, when the other, I2b, engages those of the wheel 9b. The axis of the roohet I2b carries an éorou salient 14.
A third roohet I2c is provided with a longitudinal groove I5 crossed by a pivot pin 16 integral with the rear wall of the casing 6; oe roohet I2c provided with an adjustment stop 18 is biased by a coil spring 17 and s' engages in the teeth of the wheel 9b, while a fourth ratchet I2b returned by the spring I3d engages in the teeth of the wheel 9a.
On the same axis 2 can still freely pivot a part or crosspiece 19 returned by a spring 20 and pierced with two holes 2I intended to receive the pins of an operating key 22, which passes through the front cover of the device. upper end, this cross member 19 is provided with a lug 23 which slides in a groove 24 made in a sheet metal plate 25; this lug ends in a head driving a cover piece 26 which can slide in the coin channel 37. This is thus limited by the bottom of the housing 6, the sheet metal plate 25 and two side walls 28 and 39. On the other hand, the cross member 19 is provided with an adjustable stop 30.
Towards the place where the trajectory of the coin (or token) introduced by the planned latent oalibrated 31 ends
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
in the case 6, the bottom of the latter is pierced with an opening 32 of diameter slightly greater than that of the coin. Finally, a spring 33, the role of which will be indicated below, is arranged in faoe of this opening 32.
The coin being introduced vertically into the slot 31, falls by its own weight into the coin channel 27 to come into contact with the cover piece 26 on the one hand and with the wall 38 on the other hand.
When the operating key 22 is rotated clockwise, the crosspiece 19 pivots in the same direction by moving the coin in the channel 27 which then abuts against the roohet I2b and forces it to pivot around its axis by disengaging itself from the toothing of the wheel 9b. On the other hand the stop 30 of the cross member 19 comes into contact with the hole 14 and consequently drives the cross member 10, which can rotate freely since its roohet I2b is separated from the wheel 9b wedged on the axis 2. Following this movement, the point of the ratchet I2a slides on the teeth of the wheel 9a to come to the end of travel and engage in the neighboring upper tooth. The wheel 9a cannot turn, in the direction of the rotation of the key, under the action of the roohet I2a following the engagement of the ratchet I2b.
But at. end of travel of the olef, the cross member 10 abuts against the adjustment stop 18 of the roohet I2o and disengages it from the teeth of the wheel 9b; under the action of its spring 17, the ratchet I2o, free to slide through its groove 15 on its axis, is brought a little in front of the point of the tooth which it has just left, so that it does not can no longer fit into this same tooth, when the cross member 19 returns, otherwise the drum 1 could not move in the useful direction.
Under these conditions, when the key is released, the spring II drives, in the opposite direction, via the roohet I2a, the wheel 9a and the drum I, which is integral with it. This movement brings about a box filled with 'a cigar in front of the window 5 of the glass tube 4, the cigar thus falls into a gutter 34 intended to receive it.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Simultaneously, the cross member 19 having continued to move the coin as far as the hole 33, the latter, under the action of the spring 33, is pushed inside the device and guided into the drum I .
At the same time the cross member 10 and all the ratchets I2a, I2b, I2c and I2d have returned to their initial position, while the olef 22 is returned to its starting point by the spring 20 acting on the cross member 19. The apparatus is thus ready to operate again.
It should be noted that as long as the roohet I2c is not released from the toothing of the wheel 9b, the rotation of the drum I is not possible in any direction, which conattue a safety, because this roohet being inaccessible from the outside in the proposed construction, it is not possible to act on the meoanism by using, for example, the passage resulting from the presence of the window 5.
To replace the cigars and remove the reoette, the cover 7a of the device is removed by means of button 35, which carries pivoting claws 36 (Fig. 4) that a spring 37 keeps tight against a shoulder of a gold 38 integral with the oentral axis 2. The separation of the claws 36 and therefore the removal of the cover 7a is only possible by means of a key 39, which is in the hands of the owner of: the device.
Any other method of closure could obviously be used without departing from the scope of the invention.
