Brevet d'invention.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig, 1 est une vue en plan;
Fig. 2 est une vue de côté;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
tissu.

Patent. Method and device for making clear stitches and articles made by this method.
The invention relates to a method and to a device for making clear stitches and to articles produced according to this method.
This process consists in making by machine, along a fold made in the fabric and through the two parts of the fabric kept apart by the width of the light stitch to be obtained, a stitching, between spacers held in place. next to each other in the fold of the fabric, then cut the bottom of the fold and spread the cut parts on either side of the attachment points of the stitching threads.
The process makes it possible to make shaped articles, just by the execution of the plain stitch, by making this one only part of the length of the fold.
It also makes it possible to carry out the assembly by points

clear by securing two fabrics to each other, making the clear stitch along the assembly line and clearing it along that line.
The device consists essentially of two rulers kept parallel and slightly apart at one end and between which the stitching is made when these rulers are placed flat in the fold of the fabric which is engaged with them between the claw and the foot. sewing machine doe.
In order to clarify ideas, the accompanying drawing shows an example of an embodiment of the device for performing a light stitch in a straight line.
Fig, 1 is a plan view;
Fig. 2 is a side view;
Fig. 3 is a section taken on line 3-3 of FIG, 1; Fig. - shows the device in perspective, in use in the sewing machine.
The two rulers 12 and 13 connected by the loop 14, are engaged between the parts 15 and 16 of the fabric folded in 17 (where two fabrics can also be assembled). The whole is placed on the claw of the sewing machine, under the presser foot 18 of the latter, with the rules 12 and 13 in the direction of advance, so that the stitching 19 is made in the parts of fabric 15 and 16, by the passage of the needle 20 in the gap 21 formed between the rules.
The upper face of the rulers 12 and 13, which comes inside the web 17 in contact with the fabric part 15, is finely grooved transversely at 22 so as to form a non-slip surface for the fabric.
For light stitches longer than the device, the rules 12 and 13 are gradually moved into the fold of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
tissue. The lateral projection formed by the loop 14 is offered at a distance from the bottom of the fold for the maintenance and displacement of the rules.
The rule occupying the bottom of the fold is longer than the other so as to allow, after a stoppage of a work in progress, the resumption of this one, the installation of the device then being done by the introduction of the end protruding from the longest ruler into the bottom of the fold, between the fold and the stitch,
It is clear that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment of the device shown and that this device can include numerous variant embodiments, in particular and for example with regard to the mode of combining the two rules, which can be direct or indirect,
Summary.
In summary, the invention relates to:
1. A process for making clear stitches by machine, along a fold made in the fabric and through the two parts of this fabric kept apart, a stitch between spacers held next to each other. the other in the fold of the fabric, then to cut the bottom of the fold and to separate the cut parts on either side of the attachment points of the threads of the stitching,
2, A method according to 1, applied to the assembly by light point of two fabrics which are then separated beyond the light point to release the latter.
