La présente invention a pour objet un panneau décoré, en matière transparente ou translucide, dans lequel tout ou partie des dessins ou décors colorés sont faits au moyen d'une couleur phosphorescente ou fluorescente, de composition quelconque connue. Il n'est pas nouveau d'utiliser de telles couleurs, dans un ensemble, pour produire des effets spéciaux dans l'obscurité, quand l'ensemble est resté exposé pendant un certain temps à la lumière, c'est en fait le propre de ces couleurs.
Mais jusqu'ici, ces couleurs étaient toujours posées sur un fond opaque et étaient éclairées directement par la lumière, sur une face seulement, pour réapparaitre lumineuses ou luminescentes , dans l'obscurité, sur cette même face.
La nouveauté essentielle de l'invention réside précisément dans l'application de telles couleurs sur un fond transparent ou translucide, par exemple en cellulose, cellulose régénérée, succédanés ou dérivés, et ce de manière que la couche de couleur phosphorescente ne soit visible, dans l'obscurité, que par transparence du fond sur lequel elle est posée, Ceci permet des effets

tout à fait spéciaux et inconnus dans ce domaine, particulière ment quand le fond-support est muni de motifs, dessins ou par ties en relief.
L'invention s'étend à toute espèce de panneaux, panneaux muraux, vitraux, panneaux d'abat-jour, panneaux peints encadrés voire cartes postales.
Pour des panneaux d'abat-jour par exemple, faits de feuilles décorées en relief, telles que'décrites au brevet belge 415.157 du 23 avril 1936, certaines parties seront peintes avec la couleur phosphorescente, ou analogue, cette peinture étant de préférence posée sur la face interne de l'abat-jour et éven tuellement recouverte d'une couche protectrice de vernis ou d' autre couleur ordinaire, la couleur ordinaire sera visible par transparence, de jour, tandis que le soir, dans l'obscurité ,la couleur phosphorescente apparaîtra également par transparence, ayant été éclairée par transparence, et quand la lampe sera allumée, la couleur ordinaire apparaîtra par transparence, mais mélangée avec l'effet de la couleur phosphorescente, qui pourra varier si par exemple la couleur ordinaire, qui forme fond, est relativement foncée.
Pour des panneaux muraux, ou à encadrer, la couleur phosphorescente sera également posée au dos, et soustraite à 1' action directe de la lumière, et de l'air ; l'éclairage de cette couleur se fera donc par transparence, tant en ce qui concerne l'absorption que l'émission de lumière. Pour toutes les appli cations en général, il sera d'ailleurs avantageux, conformément à l'invention, de poser la couleur phosphorescente sur le dos du panneau, et, si ce dos est découvert, de recouvrir cette couleur soit d'une surface opaque, soit d'un enduit protecteur, ceci dans le but de prolonger la vie de la couleur. Evidemment, ceci n'est possible qu' à la condition que le support soit transparent, étant entendu que les parties du support recouvertes de couleur ordinaire, peuvent être enduites sur l'une ou l'autre face.

Comme il a été dit, l'invention retend principalement, mais non limitativement, aux panneaux dans lesquels les motifs, décors ou dessins sont obtenus en relief, par déformation du support ; de tels panneaux permettent des effets très spéciaux par la combinaison des reliefs, des couleurs ordinaires et des couleurs phosphorescentes agissant par transparence.
