<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Bulk Core High Frequency Coil".
It is known that bulk cores are currently used for high frequency coils. These cores are generally provided with an air gap in order to obtain optimum effective permeability with regard to losses in such a core. In addition, the shape of these cores is as much as possible chosen so that the winding can be mounted in the easiest way. Therefore, in general, no annular core is used for high frequency windings, but on the contrary H, E or L shaped cores. Another condition which rings of this kind must satisfy consists in the possibility
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
to adjust them to a given value, the adjustment obtained by adding or removing turns very often not being able to be achieved with sufficient precision.
For this purpose, the cores have been provided with a bore into which an iron pin can be driven more or less deeply.
The present invention relates to a high frequency coil with a mass core, arranged so as to meet all the conditions set. For this purpose, the core is made in two parts, at least one of which is annular, while the other has, at the point of contact of the two parts, a shape such that the annular part can be moved on a path having a shape corresponding to its annular shape. The simplest embodiment consists in using two half-rings such as those in FIG. 1, one of the half-rings 1 being provided with a circular notch 2 facing outwards and whose diameter of curvature is equal to the outside diameter of the half-ring 3.
With this arrangement, the half-ring 3 can, given its annular shape, be moved at will in its plane relative to the half-ring 1, which varies the dispersion and, therefore, the inductivity of the coil. 4 wound on the two semicircular cores. This coil can therefore be adjusted with all the required precision and in the simplest way. Apart from this, the core according to the invention also has the advantage of allowing the winding of the coils on the coil body 5 before assembly of the core and the coil. In fact, the annular shape of the partial cores and their subdivision into two halves allows their insertion into the finished coil, the partial core 1 being inserted first and the partial core 3 last.
In order to immobilize the core in the coil, the re-

slipping once performed, so that there is no longer any fear of subsequent modifications of the inductivity of the coil, due to mutual displacement of the partial cores, the invention provides a coil body 5 provided with a rib elongated median 6 and having an orifice 7. This elongated rib passes through an opening of the base plate 8, preferably of insulating material. a wedge 9 introduced into the opening 7 of the rib 6 applies the whole of the core to the base plate and immobilizes it rigorously. The coil body 5 is locked on the partial core 3 by applying it to the core. party, el 1 and the latter on the base plate 8.
On the internal face of the partial core 1, there is generally a slight play between the core and the coil body.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a coil, high frequency ge according to the invention.
The application of the core shape according to the invention is obviously not limited to bulk cores, although given the current state of the art, these are mainly taken into account for coils with high frequency, this core shape can be applied with equal success to cores made of sheet metal and even to those made of massive ferromagnetic parts. The application is moreover not limited to high frequency windings and can also be carried out for other inductors when it comes, in these, to obtain an adjustment as precise as possible and a manufacturing simple winding.
The nucleus shown at. the f ig. 1 can moreover 'be arranged so as to allow the adjustment by displacement of the half-ring 3 and the fixing on the base plate in the simplest manner. Thus, the half-ring 3 can, in a manner known per se, be connected by a coupling and transmission system to an operating button whose
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the rotation allows the adjustment. The partial core 1 may also have a curvature different from that of the partial core 3, and may even, in the limiting case, be formed by a straight bar.
