LIGHTING DEVICE FOR MOTOR VEHICLES
The present invention relates to a lighting device, intended to avoid the dangers when passing vehicles.
It is characterized by a projector mounted on the front part of the vehicle and-arranged so as to illuminate the body of the vehicle and the roadway, on the side where the oncoming vehicle must pass.
Means can be provided for varying the coloration of the light beam of this headlight, to enable the driver to signal, for example, his intention to turn.
The dipped headlight according to the invention can be combined with a Code headlight.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of this kind.
Fig. 1 is a section along the axis of the assembly

Headlight Code-dipped headlight.
Fig. 2 shows the effect produced when crossing two vehicles provided with this lighting device.
The two lights have a common housing 1, mounted on a hollow support 2, intended for fixing the device to the front part of the vehicle. The shape of this support is variable according to the arrangements of the front part of the vehicle body. It is provided with a nut 3 and a tightening washer 4.
The housing 1 receives, towards the front, the reflector 5 of the Code headlight of any type, the bulb of which is shown at 6 and the glass at 7. This headlamp can be arranged so as to be able to give an inclination. suitable for the light beam. At the rear, this same housing receives the reflector 17 of the dipped headlight. This reflector is provided with a visor 8, the orientation of which can be adjusted around the axis of the dipped beam headlight and which is fixed in the chosen position by means of a screw 9.
The dipped headlight is provided with a bulb 10, bypassing the circuit of the lamp 6 of the Code headlight, and with a glass 11. It has a second lamp 12 which is red and which is supplied by a special circuit. The conductor which supplies the lamps 6 and 10 and the conductor supplying the red lamp 12 pass inside the support 2 and go to the dashboard, where each of them ends at a switch.
During an intersection, the driver of the vehicle turns off the main beam headlights and turns on the Code headlight-dipped beam headlight assembly. If he wants to turn, he also lights the red lamp 12. The light beam from the dipped headlight is then colored at 12, which warns the driver of the oncoming vehicle.
Of course, the invention is not limited to what is described and shown, but can give rise to variants.
