<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

external circular of the state ventilator according to the invention, are corrugated in the circumferential direction, so as to impart to the gases an undulating movement favorable to their evacuation. The corrugated shape of the exterior vertical sheets is such that each sheet has a convex median corrugation which continues, on either side, in concave undulations, of which the fins form part.
The arrangement of the corrugated outer sheets presents an improvement of great importance as to the practical effect or the efficiency of the ventilator, the evacuation of the air and the gas shining more intensely as a result of the undulating movement which is caused to them. printed consecutively as they pass along the interior surfaces of the corrugated sheets. This arrangement also makes it possible to reduce, for an equal flow rate, the external diameter of the fan, compared to any other construction, the external envelope of which does not affect the shape according to the present invention.
The description below, with reference to the appended drawings, of an embodiment of an apparatus according to the invention is given by way of non-limiting example.
Figure 1 is an elevational view of a static fan according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a cross section through the fan.
The static automatic fan shown in Figures 1 and 2 is made in substance of the same main elements as that described in main patent N 4243 of October 29, 1937, the modification relating particularly to the shape of the vertical sheets 1 forming the ring envelope. exterior and subsidiarily on the angle formed by the extensions of the edges of two neighboring vertical sheets:
4. The outer sheets 1 have a wavy shape in the sound.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
eiroonferential, of which the convex median part is prolonged, on either side, by * concave surfaces * in the extension of which are the fins 2.
The vertical sheets 4 of the inner casing, forming ooncave gutters, are arranged such that the extension of two neighboring edges of the gutter sheets form an angle of 20 to 30.
The corrugated shape of the outer sheets 1, according to the present improvement, makes it possible, for an equal flow, to bring the outer sheets together with the center of the device and thus to obtain a reduced bulk. It also follows that the protection of the interior of the fan against rain and snow is particularly effective for any wind direction and arrangement of openings 3 and 5, the number of which is relatively large, so to allow the wind to increase its action, by the multiplicity of inputs and outputs.
The arrows A - B (FIG. 2) delimit the very small angle of penetration of the wind, with respect to the ends of the respective internal concave sheets 4, and the opening left between the fins 2, also concave.
As described, the static automatic fan therefore presents a maximum useful effect for a smaller footprint and greater safety, from the point of view of the penetration of rain and snow, than any other existing oon- struction.
