<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"CENTRAL HEATING BOILER"
The invention relates to a central heating boiler, to. hot water or at. low pressure steam, advantageously made of sheet steel, and comprising a store for the fuel, which extends by gravity into the hearth of the boiler.
According to the invention, the fuel is stored in a central tank and is spread out in the form of a pyramid or a very thick cone on a water-cooled floor, which is provided with primary air blowing nozzles. under pressure, opening into cavities provided in the base, in areas of great thickness of the fuel bank.
In addition, the canbustible magazine is provided, at its outlet, with a removable chute which, in combination with a fuel flow adjustment valve., Allows the use of fuels of different sizes and types, while for now

rational and economical operation of the boiler.
Thanks to the fact that the fuel is burned in the form of a pyramid or a thick cone, it is possible to practically stop the operation of the generator for a very long time, during which the fire smolders, with an extremely consumption. minimal coal. Moreover, the blowing of pressurized air through the openings in the hearth makes it possible to activate combustion very quickly. The boiler is therefore very flexible to operate, while being very economical to consume.
Other features and advantages of the subject of the invention will emerge from the description of an embodiment of the boiler, given below with reference to the appended schematic drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is a vertical sectional view of the boiler, taken along the line I - I of FIG. 2, which is a plan view of this boiler.
. the boiler shown in the drawing, the cover of which has been removed, comprises a fuel store 1 arranged in the center of the body. circulation of water from the boiler, which body consists of interior elements 2, surrounding the store 1, and exterior elements 3, the water circulations of which communicate with each other through the pipes 4 and are suitably connected to the conduits d cold water inlet and hot water outlet.
The fuel descends by gravity into the furnace and spreads out on the sole 5 of the boiler, in the form of a cane or a pyramid 6, depending on the shape of the outlet orifice 7 of the store 1.
The arrangement of the outlet of this store relative to the sole 5 is such that the fuel forms thereon a cone or a pyramid of great thickness. A chute 8, preferably made of steel, is arranged in the orifice 7, which makes it possible to adjust the height of the fuel outlet plane, for example by adjusting
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the height of the chute, by replacing it with another of a different height or by removing the chute, so that the normal flow of the fuel and the obtaining of a cone or a pyramid of great thickness are ensured for the various sizes of fuel that can be used.
Sole 5 is water cooled and provided with two cavities
9, 10 which extend in the direction of the depth of the hearth and into which open nozzles 11 serving for the insufflation of the primary combustion air which is supplied by an external fan 12 and supplied by a duct 13 and a air chamber 14 which extends under the sole and to which said nozzles are connected.
These nozzles are arranged in rows and open out, preferably in an approximately horizontal direction, into the side walls of the cavities 9, 1a.
The secondary air is injected into the furnace, especially in order to ensure the complete combustion of the distillation gases of the coal spread on the hearth, by a ramp 15, bypassing the outlet of the store 1 and connected to the blown air pipe. 13.
The combustion gases rise between elements 2 and 3, come down through the rear of the boiler and are evacuated through pipe 16 connected to the chimney.
The great thickness of coal located on the hearth above the cavities 9, 10, allows a very long operation of the boiler with a very low consumption of coal, the slow combustion being only maintained by the air stream passing through. the fan, off, towards the fireplace. It is then sufficient to restart the fan to quickly activate combustion. In addition, combustion is very economical under all operating conditions of the boiler.
Scrubbing can be done easily through door 17.
During this operation, the descent of fresh coal into the hearth
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
can be avoided by flouring the valve 18, forming a valve, which is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis in the outlet 7 of the magazine 1 and can be operated from the outside.
In the illustrated embodiment, the boiler body is formed of two sheet metal elements each comprising two water spaces 2, 3, which elements having a horizontal U-shaped section and are assembled by bolting, using brackets 19 or the like, the joints being suitably masticated. For boilers of higher power, it is possible to insert, by bolting, between the end elements, an element comprising only lateral bodies of water which are inserted in the lateral faces of the boiler components shown in the drawing. The constructive realization of boilers of different powers is therefore very simple.
