<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fig. 2 le montre de face, vu de la gauche de la fig.l.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Store for cinematographic films, especially for cameras on small format films.
The object of the invention is a magazine for cinematographic films, more especially for cameras for taking pictures of small format films, this magazine containing a unwinding reel and an unwinding reel with which it is inserted into the apparatus.
In known constructions, the display frame of the wire, as well as the associated film clamp plate are located in front of the magazine, so that by inserting the magazine into the apparatus a loop of the film is pulled out of the magazine. that one slides between the plate and the frame and that one then brings back in the magazine, towards the envidering reel. In a store of different construction
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the film display frame is located immediately in front of the magazine, and the film clamp plate is engaged in a recess in the front face of the magazine.
In this case, the film coming from the unwinding reel through the film passage slot, is led in a straight line between the plate and the frame to be returned, through the second passage slot, towards the envy reel. In the latter type apparatus, film guide devices extend from the exit orifices or the entry, respectively, to the slits to the exposure frame of the film.
- Currently, stores of different constructions are used for both types of devices. In devices where the exposure frame and the film holder plate are located in front of the magazine, where it is therefore necessary to pull forward a loop of film, a recess is not necessary and is therefore not provided for. more than a straight guide of the film, so that it is possible to pull the film, out of the exit hole, making it loop. In the apparatus where the exposure frame is immediately in front of the magazine, the recess is necessary to reserve a place for the film clamp. The magazine intended for an appliance of one of the types cannot therefore be used with an appliance of the other type.
The object of the invention is a magazine which can be inserted into an appliance of either type, which allows it to be imitated by a single type of magazine. This object is achieved by providing the film magazine with the known recess, open on both sides and, in addition, with a rectilinear guide located in front of the recess, this guide being sufficiently open at the front to that we can remove a loop from the film. Thanks to the recess it is possible, in the magazine of one of the types, to lead the film in a straight line, the film-holder plate engaging, at the rear, in the recess, while the film is firmly
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
guided, as before, in the recess.
When inserting the magazine into an apparatus where the exposure frame is at a certain distance in front of the magazine and where, therefore, a loop of film has to be pulled out of the slot, this is still possible despite the guidance. existing film.
The magazine consists of a flat box, open on one side, and a removable cover. According to the invention, the guide device is formed by ridges which rise up on the side walls, that is to say on the side walls of the box and of the cover. These edges guide the film which is drawn in a straight line in front of the opening. The side ridges also allow the film to be pulled forward. The ridges extend to such a distance from the recess that there remains, behind the exposure frame, enough room for the introduction of the film clamp.
In most cases, the film guided in a straight line is sufficiently tensioned by the known devices, provided inside the magazine, to prevent slackening of the film despite its inherent elasticity. However, it may happen that this tension is insufficient to maintain the film between the guide ridges. For this reason, stops are placed in the magazine, in front of the recess and the guide edges, which hold the film between the lateral guide edges. These stops are arranged so that they do not prevent a loop of the film from being pulled forward. They are therefore located at a certain distance from the outlet and inlet openings of the passage slits of the device, respectively above and below the exhibition frame.
The stops are advantageously formed by tabs which, starting from the lateral guide ridges, advance in front of the film.
At the inner ends of the film passage slits there are, according to the invention, reflective surfaces which reflect the light penetrating, if any, into the slits.

In the drawing, which represents an exemplary embodiment of the invention,
Fig. 1 shows the magazine in side view partially in section, while
Fig. 2 shows it from the front, seen from the left in fig.l.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the store consists of a box a and a cover b. In the upper part of the magazine is the axis of the unwinding reel c, and in the lower part of the magazine that of the unwinding reel d. On the side of the magazine, facing the lens, the walls go inward, so as to form the recess f open on both sides. The magazine has a passage slot g for the film h coming from the unwinding reel to the outside, and a similar slot, not shown, for the re-entry of the film to the unwinding reel.
The magazine can be inserted into a camera whose exposure frame i is located immediately in front of the film driven in a straight line. In this case, the film clamp plate exerting an elastic pressure is engaged in the recess f.
Fig. 1 shows the exposure frame i and the thread clamp plate == 1 1 shown in solid lines. On the other hand, the magazine can also be placed in an apparatus of which the exposure frame il and the film clamping plate j1 are at a certain distance in front of the recess f, as in FIG. 1 shows it in broken lines. Whereas, in the first case, the wire h is led, in a straight line, from the outlet orifice k, from the upper passage slot to the entry orifice m of the lower passage slot , in the second case, it is possible to pull out of the orifice k a greater length of film and lead the latter, by making it make a loop, towards the inlet orifice m.
The film guide device consists of two edges n projecting, respectively, on the box a and on the .-- @
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
cover b, on either side of the film. These ridges extend from the outlet and inlet openings, respectively, to the proximity of the exposure frame i, so as to leave free, for the film clamp plate j, the sides of the recess f. At the inner ends of the ridges, therefore at a certain distance from the outlet k and inlet m openings, tabs o are placed in front of the recess f and in front of the film h which passes in front of the recess.
The described arrangement of the guide device allows the magazine to be inserted over a film-clamping plate engaged in the recess. At the same time it also makes it possible to use the magazine in an apparatus whose display frame it is at a certain distance in front of the magazine, because the film h can be drawn outwards between the openings and m and the paws o.
Thus, the same type of magazine can be used in both types of cameras.
At the inner end of the passage slot g, the inner wall of the box protrudes at the location p, and the anterior surface, opposite the slot, of the projection forms a mirror. As a result, the light which could pass through the slit is reflected by the mirror and thus removed from the film.
If the magazine is to be used in an apparatus with the film clamp plate positioned in front of the magazine, facing the exposure frame, the film is first pulled out of the exit slot as shown in dashed lines in fig.l, then the magazine is inserted, in a known manner, into the apparatus, the film is passed through the guide device and it is led to the envideuse reel.
If, on the other hand, it is an apparatus whose film-clamping plate is located inside the recess f of the magazine, one begins by inserting the latter, in a known manner, into the apparatus, without forming a loop outside the store with the film. When the film is pulled forward, it is driven between the side edges n and the legs o.
