<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

DESCRIPTION in support of a patent application for a selfacting thread clamping device.- In selfacting, tension is given to the textile threads during winding, by means of the counter-rod.
To this end, the latter is urged, during winding, to a lifting position under the action of an external load (weight) released in due time.
Unfortunately, these -weights, the action of which only becomes oerant during rewinding, constitute a dead weight which the carriage must convey in its reciprocating backward movement.
Fearing to remedy this drawback, consideration has been given to reducing the magnitude of the static load acting on the counter-sidestick and to compensate for this reduction by an external dynamic action.
To this end, the counter-rod is in relation with a sliding coupling, of which one of the elements pressed on the other is fixed in rotation, while the other, connected to the counter-ring, is forced to slide on this first .
However, this mode of action is not completely satisfactory, since it only acts at the end of winding.
The present invention overcomes this drawback by providing an apparatus which operates in a continuous manner throughout the entire winding period.
To this end, the invention provides for communicating, throughout the winding, to the normally fixed element of the aforementioned coupling, a rotation which tends to drive the other element in relation to the counter-rod, towards a position which realizes the tensioning of the counter-stick.
The drawings show one embodiment of the invention.
My fig. I is a view of the apparatus according to the invention shown looking at the frame of the winder. Fig. 2
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
is a profile view of said device.
The axis 2, which pivots freely in the supports of the chas- sis 3, carries a sleeve 4 driven in rotation by a gear 5 engaged with a gear 6, wedged on the axis 7 of one of the wheels 8 of the frame 3 On the socket 4, can slide a griffin 9 urged by a spring 10 to engage with a complementary griffon 12, wedged on the axis 2, but normally blocked in movement by a pivoting lever 13, linked by the chain 14, with rod 15.
At the end, the axis 2 -oorte a loose bell 16, engaged with a friction 17, under the action of a tension spring 18, adjustable, according to the materials worked, by the play of nuts and counter- nuts 19.
The idler bell 16 carries an external toothing 20, in which the pawls 21 can be engaged, carried by a lever 22 in relation by the chain 23 with the counter-rod 24.
After depointing, to occupy the starting position for winding, the rod is lowered.
The same is true of chain 14, the movement of which has enabled lever 13 to oscillate under the action of spring 10.
Ke griffon 9 engages with griffin 12 and thus determines the operation of the thread clamp, during reentry.
Therefore, the griffin 12 participates in the assembly, composed of: wheel 8, gear 6, gear 5, sleeve 4, and causes the rotation of the axis 2 on which the friction 17 depends.
The latter tends to drive the bell 16, which acts positively on the pawls 21 & 22 to ensure the continuous tension of the chain 25 attached to the shaft of the counter-rod.
Consequently, to the normal raising of the latter, ensured by the weight of the scales, there is therefore added the complementary and continuous action of the thread clamp throughout the winding-up.
The flexibility of operation of the device is ensured by the spring 18 which allows the adjustment of the pressure exerted by the friction 17 on the bell 16.

At the end of the winding, the rod and the counter-rod return to their normal position, which has the effect of disengaging the griffons 9 and 12 from one another, making the carriage exit, the assembly: gear 5, sleeve 4 and griffin 9, is rotated in the opposite direction to that given to this assembly when the carriage retracts, but without any influence on the clamp.
