Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

La fig.l est une coupe faite à travers le moule creux et l'outil;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  Device for the manufacture of hollow bodies, in particular the heads or limbs of dolls, made of materials molded from artificial resin.

  The hollow bodies used in the toy department, in particular the heads of dolls, have so far been manufactured as follows: the hollow body was molded in two parts, which were, at their end edges, assembled and joined together by a lut or putty.

   This process is inconvenient and requires special subsequent work, because the hollow bodies flex easily at their extreme edges, therefore do not fit and match each other with precision, which requires, in these places, to perform work. subsequent.

   Another drawback of this production lies in the fact that, when the head of the dolls is subjected to a collision, a blow, a fall, etc., the parts are easily detached from one another. To remedy this drawback, the doll's head or any similar member has already been made in one piece, filling with stiffened fibers (fabric or similar substances)

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 a mold in two or more parts and having, in the middle of the mold, a rubber pocket. By the expansion of the rubber pouch by means of pressurized water, the fabric was strongly pressed against the mold which surrounds it, after which the rubber pouch was, after water flowed through a small orifice. , removed from the mold.

   The drawback of this method of manufacture lies in the fact that the outer mold is not, despite the high pressure effect of the water pocket through the medium, completely filled with the fabric and that, therefore, it This results in defective molded articles, the exterior surface parts of which are lacking.

   In addition, it has been proposed to deposit closed solid hollow bodies in a material, such as filling elements, then to give the material, by compression, the shape of a doll's head. In the case of this method of manufacture, the thicknesses of the walls of the doll's head are irregular, so that, due to the distribution of the weight, on one side, the doll cannot sit freely, but, due to excess weight, tends to fall backwards.

   The invention eliminates all these known drawbacks. A one-piece, strong and light weight doll's head is manufactured which has a regular wall thickness, therefore which is totally balanced, and in which even the thinnest exterior parts, such as protrusions or elements analogues, are produced in a perfect way during molding.

   In accordance with the invention, in order to manufacture a hollow, shielded and one-piece head of a hollow headstock, a press-molding tool with an outer multi-part mold and a core which is combined by several partial core elements is used. , which are clamped together during the molding process, but can be removed separately through the choke of the shelled and completed hollow mold.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   An embodiment of the new device is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawings, in which!
Fig.l is a section made through the hollow mold and the tool;
Fig. 8 is a cross section taken through the core taken along line 2-2 of Fig.l.

   The tool consists of jaws 1 and 2 forming the outer mold! which are held in a frame 3. These jaws also include the filling chamber 4, into which is introduced the raw material which, during the adjoining process of injection by compression of the upper mandrel 6, is pushed back, by the nozzle 7, with simultaneous use of heat and pressure, in cavity 8 of the mold.

   Also engaged in the mold cavity is the core 9, which consists of separate partial core elements, which are locked together during the molding process, but which can be removed separately through the constriction of the hollow mold. screened and completed. The core has a collar 10, which rigidly holds the core in the jaws 1 and 2.

  The middle of the core is formed by a rod 11, which has, for example, dovetail mortises. Partial core elements 13,14,15,16,17,18,19 and 20, also mortised, are fitted onto this rod. These partial core elements are made in such a way that the wall thickness of the head of the doll, which is made in the cavity 8, is substantially at all points, approximately of the same value and that after removal, possibly by means of a suitable device for removing the mortised strip 11 with the core 9 and the collar 10, the separate partial core elements are not larger than the constriction 21 of the mold.

   In the cross section according to fig. 2, there is shown a possibility of the arrangement of the division planes for the partial elements of the core. In this case, after withdrawal

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 of the rod 11, the partial elements of the core are detached, without difficulty, from the mold, in the order of succession 13,14,15, 16,17, etc. When establishing this combined core, it is simply necessary to take care that the maximum dimensions of the cross sections of each of the partial elements of the hose are not greater than the free passage existing at the narrowest point 21 of the hose. mold.

   By the embodiment indicated above of the compression mold, it is possible to mold a compressed element of a doll's head or other similar member, which is made in one piece, and therefore which has a high resistance against forces of any kind to which it is subjected, which, moreover, has a uniformly thin wall thickness, so that it does not present any excess weight on one side and thus the doll can stand sitting straight, and which, moreover, is obtained with a profile marked in its external form, even if this one has very fine contours, because the pressure with which the material is introduced into the mold can, in the case of the extremely solid nucleus, being, of course,

     chosen high enough so that all the cavities are filled with the material.

   Of course, it is also possible, without further explanation, to use in injection compression, according to an appropriate modification, the molds established in the manner indicated above, and, in this case, the part. The lower part of the mold is formed by the jaw 1 and the upper part of the mold by the jaw 2, while the filling chamber 4 is located in the lower part of the mold. However, the assembly, in principle, of the core divided into several elements remains the same.
