Description

  Bouteille compte-gouttes.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

  Dropper bottle.

   The invention relates to a dropper bottle, provided with a dropper cap and a closure cap.

   Dropper bottles are known in which the dropper cap and the neck have a shape such that the liquid can only come out of the bottle when the stopper occupies a determined position with respect to the grooves made inside the neck of the bottle. bottle for the passage of air and liquid, while the air and liquid passage channels are closed when the cap is turned to move it away from this position. When using these bottles, the dropper cap is turned slightly after taking liquid. If the stopper is not turned enough, or if it is turned too much, it does not completely close the channels, so that the liquid can drip out of the bottle, for example when carrying

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 you this one in the pocket.

   Apart from soiling and the resulting loss of liquid, these dropper bottles are not suitable when the liquid in the bottle needs to be kept sterile, as the entry of small amounts of unsterilized air may already have a negative effect. harmful action.

   A dropper bottle of another type is also known, on the neck of which a lapped cap can be applied, sealing it so as to cover the dropper device. The cap prevents the drug from evaporating and allows sterilized liquids to be kept sterile and withdrawn aseptically.

   The invention relates to a dropper bottle provided with a closing cap and whose orifice, as well as the edge of the neck are eccentric relative to each other, the dropper spout being disposed on the cap so as to protrude the neck of the bottle in the position of use, but not to exceed it in the closed position, so that it is only in the closed position of the cap that the closure cap - re can be engaged on it, screwed or fixed in any other way.

   According to another characteristic of the invention, the stopper of the dropper bottle can be provided with a handle forming an eccentric and asymmetrical projection with respect to the core of the stopper. This handle, as well as the dropper spout, protrudes beyond the cap on one side, without the need to increase the diameter of the cap.

  The side protrusion of the stopper handle forms a relatively large lever arm which facilitates the release of stuck corks. This eliminates the inconvenience that occurs when the patient cannot use the drugs because the bottle cap is stuck.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   The eccentric shape of the edge of the neck of the bottle makes it possible to give this neck ordinary thickness over its entire periphery, which ensures an economy of raw material, while avoiding the formation of unwanted tensions in the glass.

   The combination of a hemispherical dropper cap, known per se, with a channel formed by a groove made around the periphery of the cap and rising obliquely and quickly, ensures the advantage that, when the drop is detached , when the bottle is upright, the liquid which is still on the dropper button and below in the dropper channel immediately falls back into the bottle, instead of sticking to the dropper button, as so far. This is important for distribution; drip, concentrated chemical and pharmaceutical liquids, as well as for maintaining the cleanliness of the drip channel.

   Since the screw cap prevents the stopper from rotating and moving axially in the closed position, any loss of the liquid contained in the bottle is avoided when the bottle is carried in the pocket.

   For a glass bottle, a stopper made of porcelain, other ceramic material or artificial material has the advantage that the different materials used for the manufacture of the neck of the bottle and that of the stopper can be lapped on top of each other. , to ensure a hermetic seal, in a more precise way than if the two parts were glass. This is important for spirits and essences, which cannot be prevented from dripping, evaporating or splashing, until the cork is very cleanly lapped.

   In addition, non-glass stoppers do not get stuck as easily as glass stoppers in the embossed opening of the glass neck because the coefficients of expansion

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 are different; this is also important, so that it is always possible to easily open the bottle.

   Examples of embodiment of the comet dropper bottle and of the stopper which are the subject of the invention are
 EMI4.1
 shown schematically in the attached drawings.

   Figures 1 and 2 are respectively an axial section and a view from above of a dropper bottle in the leaf. position of use.

   Figs. 3 and 4 are corresponding views of the same bottle in the closed position, the closure cap, being in place and screwed on.

   Fig. 5 is a view, corresponding to FIG. 3, of another exemplary embodiment.

   Figs. 6 and 7 are respectively an axial section and a side elevation of another embodiment of the dropper cap.

   The edge 12, provided with a screw thread 11, of the neck of the bottle 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 is eccentric, so that it is, compared to its average thickness, thinner on one side, at 8, and wider on the other side, at 9, the difference in thickness corresponding to l eccentricity (fig.

  2). Inside, on the neck of the bottle and on one side, from the orifice of the bottle to approximately halfway up this neck, a groove 3 is made for the entry. air, and on the other side, from the lower edge of the neck of the bottle, a groove 6, also going approximately to halfway up this neck, is made for the outlet of the liquid. In the position of use (fig. 1) these grooves are covered at their ends by the air inlet groove 4, made at the bottom in the plug 2 provided with a handle 13 and, on the other side by the liquid outlet channel 5, which channel extends to the button of the drip tip.

   When the bottle is tilted, the air therefore enters through the groove 3 and the groove 4, while the liquid exits through the groove 6 and the groove 5 on the dropper button 15.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

   To close the bottle, the cap is turned 180 to bring it to the position shown in fig. 3.

  All the splines are kept closed at their ends in the middle of the neck of the bottle, so that air cannot enter and liquid cannot exit. By screwing the closure cap 7, the cap 2 is secured on the bottle 1 in the closed position (fig.3). As can be seen by comparing Figs. 1 and 3, the closing cap 7 can only be placed on the bottle when the stopper 2 is in the closed position, a position in which the dropper spout is above the enlarged part 9 of the edge of the bottle neck.

   The neck 10 of the glass bottle 1 shown in FIG. 5 has a uniform thickness above the eccentric edge 12, and the handle 13 is also asymmetric and eccentric. The cover 7, which is provided, preferably with an elastic inner lining 14, is applied on the handle 13 when this cover is put in place and that it is screwed on and it thus prevents the stopper 2 from coming off and to fall.

   The dropper button 15 is located at the upper end of the channel 5 in the form of a groove rising obliquely and rapidly, and can also make a bend, as shown for the stopper according to Figs. 6 and 7.

   The stopper 2 is preferably made of porcelain or ceramic material or artificial material.
