Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"Reinforced construction with hollow building bricks"
The invention relates to a construction subjected to bending, for example a beam or a floor slab, consisting essentially of rows of hollow building bricks, between which are arranged one or more reinforcing bars.

The object of the invention is to make, in a very simple manner, such constructions suitable for withstanding greater stresses.

According to the invention, this result is obtained by virtue of the fact that one or both end bricks of one, at least, of the two rows of building bricks situated on either side of the reinforcing bars, are make it narrower, so that a wider joint part is formed to accommodate the ends of the rebars, which are bent in the form of hooks.

Until now it was not possible to bend the reinforcing bars in the form of hooks in the case of constructions of years of hollow building bricks, since due to the fact that the reinforcing bars were or are twisted or have a certain elasticity, these hooks obtained by bending occupy a space which is wider than the joint between the rows of building bricks. Therefore, the construction tends to fall apart. In the execution according to the invention, this drawback should not be feared.

The narrow brick (s) may also be made in the form of hollow building bricks, but they are preferably made of solid bricks, such as Wahal bricks or the like.

As a result, not only is not only a very simple narrow brick available which adapts well to hollow building bricks, but the advantage is also realized that the ends of the construction, to the right of the support, are massive, so as to better absorb the forces on the supports and transverse.

The invention is described below in more detail, with reference to the appended drawing which represents an embodiment of the subject of the invention.

In this drawing, 1 denotes the hollow building bricks which have a groove at their lower part, so as to form, with the bricks of an adjacent row, a housing for the reinforcement 5.

At their ends, the reinforcing bars 3 are bent in the form of a hook, the plane of which will generally not coincide with the plane of the separation joint between the two rows of adjacent bricks. As a result, the construction will tend to fall apart, before hardening has taken place.

According to the invention, use is now made of narrower end bricks 2, which are preferably Wahal brigades or the like. In this way we obtain, in a very simple way, a part of the widened groove for the crocnets of the annatures. It is therefore possible to apply hooks and the forces to be absorbed by the construction may therefore be greater.

Thanks to the application of massive end bricks, the stresses on the supports of the construction, as well as the transverse stresses, are also better absorbed, while only less or even no mortar has to be used for the filling. wise hollow end bricks, which is prescribed by regulations because of the existence of these efforts.
