Drum-revolver pistol.
The object of the present invention consists in an improvement and a development of the pistol of the German army in the sense that the latter, as it is known from other pistols, is provided with a revolver-drum pivoting laterally. ; in this case, the improvement according to the invention relates firstly to the locking of this drum.
The invention consists in that the drum is locked at its rear end by a stopper which engages laterally in the box of the pistol, this part being pushed forward in the direction of fire by means of a spring and withdrawn. against the action of the spring, if the drum must be released, and at its front end by a leaf spring embedded in the front frame of the gun case, said spring being applied in the firing position by means of a pawl against the revolver drum pivot arm and removable if the drum is to be released.
The new arrangement presents an essential simplification with respect to the known arrangements. It has the advantage of greater safety and greater resistance to fatigue; essentially the new locking has vis-à-vis the known arrangements, in which the revolver-drum is locked by means of a pin movable in the direction of its axis, the a-

vantage that unlocking by the recoil shock at the time of the shot is impossible.
The invention also has the further advantage that due to the special form of the lock the execution of the expulsion device can be simplified. In the new embodiment, the polygonal rod carrying the expulsion star, to which the extension is connected, is embedded in the body of the drum and the extension is guided by means of a collar disposed therein in the bore inside the axis of the drum, while the spring, holding the expulsion star in its rest position in the firing position, rests on one of its ends against the said collar and on the other end against the inner surface of the drum body.
The accompanying drawing shows by way of example one embodiment.
Figs. 1 and 2 show two sections perpendicular to each other through the rear locking device in the locked position.
Fig.3 shows partially in view and partially cut away the rear device for the drum locking.
Fig.4 is another section of this in the position in which the drum can pivot.
Fig.5 and 6 show in view and in section the device before locking.
Fig.7 is a section through the drum in the firing position, the expulsion device not being in action.
Fig. 8 the same section with the drum rotated and the expulsion device in action.
The rear device 1 for locking the drum consists of a movable shock lacquer al, adapted to the shock plate permanently connected to the case of the revolver. The stopper c engaging in the gun box and movable in a recess b, provided, allowing a recoil movement, is fixed laterally to the impact plate a1. Said stop piece constitutes with its end face adapted to the circumference of the bearing d of the axis of the revolving drum at the impact base of the pistol, fitting around the journal

cylindrical terminal d1, of the axis of the drum e carrying the toothed ring and the expulsion star e1, the right varrouilage of the revolver drum f. The operation is clear from Figure 2.
The entire rear locking device is held and guided by means of a guide piece g provided on the plate of the plate, in the cylindrical bore of which the coil spring h is arranged with the spring bolt i, which of its side is guided by means of its collar in the bore of the guide piece g, the spring h resting on one end against the front of the bore of the guide piece g and the other end against spring bolt collar i.
The movable shock plate a1 with the handle slides on side ribs of the guide piece g .. by the recoil of the device for locking the drum, the spring bolt 1 screwed to the handle g1 compresses the coil spring h , unlocks the drum, which, when released, is automatically locked again. Unlocking during firing as a result of the recoil, as can happen in known devices, is impossible in the object of the present invention, the locking device remaining in its position under the effect of inertia.
The front locking device is constituted by a leaf spring k embedded in the front frame of the gun box on the outer front face, one of the ends of this spring carrying the pawl 1. This is formed by the Guilloche pressure element m and the nose n of the snap-fastening.
To rotate the revolver drum, remove the pressure button towards the drum, while simultaneously moving the rear locking device back,
The pivot arm o of the drum! is now free and has rotated sideways with it. By returning the drum to its place, the pivot arm o with its suitably biased surface moves the stop piece 1 back under the action of a spring which, after passing the pivot arm, fixes it again. by means of its snap-on nose and consequently maintains the drum in its initial firing position.
Because in the object of the present invention the drum
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
revolver is locked laterally and not as in the known models by a movable pin in the direction of the axis of the drum, the result is a significantly simpler execution of the ejection aisle. The ejection star e1 is mounted on the hexagonal rod p with an internal screw thread, into which the extension qu is screwed.
As long as the ejection device is not working, said extension is pressed by its collar r by means of the coil spring s against the end front face of the lower bore of the axis t of the drum, on which the drum turns. -revolver f, while the other end of said spring is applied against the corresponding counter-support of the drum body f itself. In this way, the element a. is pressed firmly on its support inside the drum applied by force against the hexagonal rod,.
The ejection of the cartridges from the drum f pivoted laterally is obtained by pressing the button u at the ejection device by compression of the coil spring 15 and by the resulting exhaust from the ejection star e1, on which the cartridges sit off their edge.
