"PROTECTIVE DEVICE FOR METAL FENCES"
The present patent relates to a protective device for metal fences intended to intermittently put metal fences to a high electric voltage in order to remove under the effect of electric shock grazing animals or people who come. in contact with the envisaged metal fences.
The apparatus envisaged is placed in a casing with a cast iron cover and in use is suspended. In the housing proper is arranged a coil with a core comprising a secondary winding which is supplied by a direct current source, for example an accumulator battery and a primary or high voltage winding which is connected to it on the one hand to earth. on the other hand to the metal part forming an oloture, furthermore an automatic device making it possible to interrupt and close the secondary current so as to induce a high voltage current in the primary winding.
The invention relates not only to the automatic device

causing the breaking and closing of the secondary current but also the embodiment and the arrangement of the various constituent elements of the device.
The accompanying drawings represent an embodiment of the apparatus and this by way of explanation and not limitation.

section of the core 4 and thus reinforce the magnetic chrunr towards the ends of the pole terminals in order to allow the attraction of the mobile armature 7 when the core ± is magnetized by the passage of the current brought by the secondary orifice.
Thus described, the device operates as follows:

rieures 2 and z of the apparatus supposedly suspended by 53. el we push on the push-button 30, it being understood that the removable pin or plug 39 is in place as shown, the current arrives at the conductor 50 in the secondary circuit of the coil

During the passage of the current, the core 1 was magnetized and violently attracted the armature Z, which by establishing the coc ** tact between 12 and 11 gave a shock to the end of the lamella Ii and due to the ball 30 which was thrown into the guide tube there.

so that its conductive part 37 is out of contact with the springs 35 and 36, see dotted position, which are then in contact with the insulating part 38 of the pin or

sheet 3Q, We understand that each passage through the coil ,, 3 of the induced current supplied by the battery, there is production in the primary circuit of the coil) of a high voltage current at terminals 40 and 42 connected by the conductors 44 respectively 45 at the ends of the fine or primary winding of the spool 3.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The time of the outward and return travel of the ball 20 will be equal to the spacing time of the power-ups of the terminals 40 and 42 oonsonsequence of the metal part of the fence to be protected. The latter will be connected to terminal 12 while terminal 42 will be connected to earth,
As indicated, the speed of the tensioning us being a function of the time of the outward and return travel of the ball 20. provision has been made to vary this time, to make the inclination of the tube 21 variable. To this end, by acting on the knurled nut 28, the inclination of the guide tube 21 will be increased or reduced and consequently the time taken between two closures or breaks in the contact between 12 and 13.
It goes without saying that the device could receive a different presentation than that shown in the drawing and it could obviously include other variants of execution of the members composing it.
The ball 20, instead of being made of metal, could be made of glass or any other material suitable for the intended purpose.
